I love getting a Schlotzsky's (albeit mine is not too close so I rarely get to one). I would eat sandwiches from there every meal for the rest of my days if I could. Besides, where else do they say "how can I make your day 'Schlotz' better?" when you drive thru? Classic. ;)

    Imagine a filet-o-fish on a Schlotzsky's bun. Oh man...I'm going to have to do a deconstruct/reconstruct.

I had one with Old Bay tartar sauce in Baltimore. Too bad that’s not available nationwide.

You're on the Chesapeake, one of the bestest places for crabs (and the fish is great too, and pit beef) and you went to McD's for a ****ing sammich?

Pretty good, a little cold. Seemed a bit small so to trick myself I split it into two halves and alternated with bites of each.

Because of your post, I had a triple custom made.

The triple had too much fish proportionally to everything else. This is the exact opposite problem of the single, which does not have enough fish for the amount of bread, cheese, etc.

The double knocks both of them out easily.

    Did you seriously do that?

I'd rather eat a fried poo sandwich.

    Its not actually fish.

Which is why we call it Filet-o-fishy.

Went to LJS last night for nostalgia. I hadn't been there in years and it was close to a rental house I had to check up on, so I figured "why not?"

Man, has that place gone downhill, (at least the OST location.) Fish and chicken was overcooked, fries were soggy. Total meh.

I did like the hush puppies, though. If I'm ever going there again, it's to grab 3 hush puppies for $1.

I’ve only had LJS like once or twice, and that was like a decade ago...main thing I remember about it was that the food was really salty

I had Wendy’s for the 1st time in years about 2 months ago, and that was 1 of the worst food experiences I had ever had...never again

Because of this thread, I ordered one via drive thru and brought it back. It was ok....

I normally enjoy this sandwich, but I honestly think it's something you have to eat on-site or after you immediately order. Otherwise it loses some freshness / crunchiness.

Gonna give it another shot by eating immediately after ordering

I used to go to Wendy's for their chicken sandwiches back in the day. However, the last time I went years ago, the chicken was like rubber. It didn't seem raw (couldn't see pink) but it was like biting into and chewing tough rubber chicken. I have no idea what was wrong with it. Not sure how a chicken breast gets like that? It was inedible. To this day, I've never gone back. I get sick thinking about it. One bad experience is all it takes for a place to lose a customer for life.

You have to eat it immediately
