Excellent deal. Especially since he's coming over for free. Next move will be interesting. With Martínez, Thiago, Vidal, Tolisso, Rudy, (Sanches) and now Goretzka we're packed in central midfield. If Chelsea or Inter offers big money for Vidal, I think we should sell.
Depends on the situation. If too many quality players don't get minutes, you automatically create chemistry issues. Also, if young guys like Goretzka don't get regular playing time, their development stutters.
Arsenal brehs met with Dortmund officials yesterday, rumor has it that Giroud will be loaned to Dortmund in exchange for Auba.
Giroud is not a high volume scorer though, a finesse one who can now and then come in and score in decisive moments. He is no Lacazette with Lyon, and surely no Auba. Two, three years older than Auba to be exact..... Funny they aint going for a younger striker. Maybe just short term as a loan.
They probably are, he's not eligible for EL. Rumor was about some 9mil Argentinian breh. Still funny to me, they'll make almost 200mil from the Dembele+Auba transfers but are investing in some unproven youngsters and 2nd tier **** for pennies. No idea what they're doing with the excess money.
PSV netted in Argentinian Maximiliano Romero quietly. Swept him under the rug. Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club.
I am just starting to get into Champions League and understanding its structure. Here is my best understanding and let me know where I'm wrong. (If this has already been answered earlier elsewhere, I apologize for re-asking.) I am thinking of UEFA Champions League like NCAA Div I Basketball. The different leagues (Premiere League, Bundesliga, etc.) are like the different NCAA conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big East and SEC). The Champions League is picked from the top 32 teams from the national leagues. It is the equivalent of NCAA March madness (although it isn't single elimination like NCAA because of round robin group play). There is also Europe League. Europa League is for lesser teams that didn't qualify for Champions League. Basically it is UEFA's "NIT tournament". Do I have it right?
For the most part. It actually starts with a total of 78 teams. There are early knockout games before they get to the 32 team group stage. The teams that are in the early rounds are typically from the smaller leagues across the continent.
Damn you Liverpool....how can a squad go from looking like world beaters against the runaway PL leaders one game and lose to literally the worst team the very next game??? How can klopp routinely allow these massive mental lapses? Odds are no one was going to catch man city this year but these inexplicable losses have them battling just to stay in the top 4 versus firmly planted in the top 2.
