texans were in 5 out of 6 games were they had a chance to win if Savage doesn't turn it over. It all came back to the qb position, in this case the back up and O'brian's ugg system quarterback in savage. Savage failed in delivering. The moment was too big for him that and add to that one millisecond after the ball was hiked, the left's tackle's matchup was already in the backfield. It happens. It's hard to find a team in the salary cap era loaded with talented depth. for example chris clark would have been an ok swing tackle if Brown wasn't such a D. When your record is ish everyone smells like ish. But when watson was unloading beautiful balls for grabs, you looked around and said wow FULLLER OMG the second coming!!! Who is this ellington? Cole with the int, he's going to be a player. Cushing who? cunningham! Look at Reader eating up space in the middle! Freeman is going to be an excellent running back, why can't we run him up the middle on 3rd and one!!!!OMGWTFOBRIAN! I cringe at these radio guys saying texans can't get talent. Bouye was a TEXAN, developed by the Texans, a player rockstar wade loved and had high hopes for. Watson will be taking us to a superbowl everyone needs to never forget this asswhooping of today. We will look back at it and laugh. Tear down reliant! rebuild in downtown.
O'brien is going to get picked up less than 48 hours after his firing and then be considered a top coach. We have been down this road with Gary Kubiak. This isn't on the coach. Injuries ruined this team and they have no talent left over. Rick should be held accountable but he did find Deshaun Watson.....
He found the national championship winning QB? I'm glad we have Watson and I think he's easily the best we've ever had since the franchise started. But let's not act like Smith drafted Tom Brady in the 6th round.
Gary Kubiak was a good coach that lost the locker room, BOB is a bad coach that was carried for a few years by a stellar defense that he had nothing to do with. If he gets picked up quickly after his firing, great, that team will learn the same lesson we did. BOB isn't good at anything.
Since we don't want any of our own QB's back as Watson's backup, Teddy Bridgewater will likely be available for next to nothing so we'll have someone to throw interceptions if Watson gets hurt again.
Actually, they were ripping into the Texans org pretty hard in the post game....specifically Rick Smith...and the lack of depth from his terrible drafts and off season pickups....
I guess u didnt listen to the post game show. They were ripping Rick Smith. Stop talking if u dont know what you are talking about.
Please lets not compare O'Brien to Kubiak. One guy truly is an offensive genius, the other guy should be no higher than QB coach, and I even question that.
Speaking of Kubiak. Remember who he replaced in Denver? Yep a guy that was considered a top coach and picked up just days after leaving.
Speaking of coaches......there's a certain defensive coordinator that led the Texans to the #1 defense in the league, then was fired. Then led Denver to the #1 defense in the league, then left. Then led the Rams to the #2 defense in the league. Wouldn't it be nice to have that guy back?
I said tomorrow. Guess you don’t listen to Mark and the guys talk Monday mornings. Literally never rip the Texans.
Sean Pendergast and Ted Johnson. As others have said, they have been increasingly critical of Rick Smith, and today they were pretty unbridled in their attacks. Mark is a company man and can't be very critical at all. These two post game guys have no such restrictions. Of course, a couple of weeks ago they acknowledged that Rick isn't going anywhere and complaining about him and his idiocy is like complaining about humidity in July. But today they were surprisingly harsh.
I can't tell if this rhetorical question is pro- or anti-firing BOB, but Fox is doing horribly in Chicago and he's probably gone after this season.
Ya that's kinda my point. Not pro or anti firing but just not a fan of this particular argument for keeping him.
