    I don't see a connection between the points you are throwing into this discussion and the fact that people who took exception to the term "radical Islamic terrorism" are not using their preferred alternative "violent extremism".

    There is no doubt that what happened in this case was "white supremacist terrorism". I wouldn't call it "violent extremism" - that is a parent to "white supremacist terrorism" just as it is a parent to "radical Islamic terrorism".

    I don't think extraordinarily detailed labels are needed to define who these people are or what the acts they committed are, but "violent extremism" is way too broad of a term to ever be used. It's just silly.

    I say one option is to put the confederate statues in a museum or park devoted to the horrors of slavery and plantation life in the old Confederacy which would sort of be like Holocaust Museums to try to educate folks on that unfortunate culture.

    Also, I'm sure his NFL owner buddies aren't thrilled. He basically just gave ESPN carte blanche to talk about concussions even more, plus tie it/the NFL into the Trumpster fire.
