TBH, currently might be the worse part of the storm for Houston. The rain bands around the eye have been weak. Red cells have been spawning off other red cells for almost 2 hours and they're barely moving. All inside the Beltway.
**** man I'm about to be in the same boat. 2 dogs and I can't just leave them. Water is so damn close
Well damn. Anything seems possible at this point. We're on our way to being ground zero for the worst flash flood in US history
Flooding is still mild here in the woodlands. I setup some pumps to filter the water out of my backyard which is usually the part of my property that gets flooded the most, they're pumping all of the water out to the street and its been hovering around 6 inches so far based on the meter I put up. I also put some top soil bags up around my generator to keep the water from reaching it. I keep checking on the water levels by the hour which have been stable so that's a good thing. How is everyone else doing? This storm can **** so we have to be cautious.
that's a scary read. Just catching up on all of the postings from overnight. Thinking about and hoping for the best for all of you.
bellaire st is flooded to the middle of the street but it drains fairly quick as soon as it stops. I just called one of the places I work at right now. I got connections at Jersey Village, Spring, bellaire, cypress, Conroe, Lake area, Rayford rd, Briar forest... places that I work at basically.
Made it through another line. Water's about another foot and a half closer. About two more feet to the edge of my garage. Waiting for daybreak, storm systems usually lighten up during the day for whatever reason. At least, that's what the TV says and I'm desperate enough to believe it, GOT to have some drainage soon.
Metro area has been mostly red for 3 hours consecutive... and has another hour, at least, to go. Mercy has been minimal.
