The Cavs cannot trade LeBron .. . . unless it is what LeBron wants.
If he is traded . . . I would think he told them TRADE ME but don't tell no one I said that

Trading him against his will is possible but If LeBron makes it nasty
the business of the cavs would suffer
So any trade would have to be polite

Cavs can go to . .. uhm . .. BROOKLYN and say LeBron for what ever you got left
Brooklyn jumps at the chance. . .lebron pouts for a year
    then move whereever. . . .

Sell LeBron is a one year rental . . .. one HOUSTON would take
and several other teams. . . but those teams have to have a shot at a title
    everyone . . .. will not get 100% Lebron

There is no way this will happen. However, as you stated it does appear that LBJ is working on an exit plan. That said, trading Lebron should happen.

No matter the reconstruction of the Cleveland Cavaliers' roster, no matter the potential for heightened inner turmoil, no matter the win-loss record, and with or without Kyrie Irving, LeBron James will not waive his no-trade clause for any teams at any point during the 2017-18 season, league sources tell ESPN.

James, along with Dirk Nowitzki and Carmelo Anthony, are the only players equipped with no-trade clauses. The Cavaliers' superstar holds a $35.6 million player option for the 2018-19 campaign, which means he could elect to test unrestricted free agency next summer.

In regards to that scenario, a decision has not been made.

The four-time MVP winner, according to sources, is focused solely on competing for a championship as a member of the Cavs and will fulfill his contractual obligations despite what unexpected circumstances may arise.

Irving requesting a trade puts the franchise is a distressing position considering it has gone to three straight NBA Finals and has captured one title in that span. It's a team very much in win-now mode, but now is faced with the realistic arduous task of seeking to obtain close to equal value in an Irving deal.

Should the Cavs find the most profitable suitor, then the process of developing and sustaining continuity begins, and it automatically puts the likes of Golden State and San Antonio laps ahead in that area from the onset of the season. Furthermore, Boston, Toronto and Washington continue to knock on the door of Eastern Conference supremacy. ESPN reported that James is disappointed with the Irving development, and it was reported by USA Today that he was frustrated by owner Dan Gilbert sabotaging the front-office and by the lack of offseason moves. However, sources are adamant that James is fully committed to leading the team with the personnel the organization imports to training camp in September.

His primary focus is next season, an entire season with the Cavs in pursuit of another championship.

This is a total PR spin by Lebron James and his team. He is leaving next summer. Putting this out there along with the story about being "hands off" with any possible Kyrie Irving trade is showing Cleveland he is doing everything he can to bring a championship this year. He is not manipulating anything behind the scenes. Any bad moves are strictly Dan Gilbert's doing. So if the season ends in disappointment and he leaves in free agency, he has an out with Cleveland fans that Dan Gilbert is the reason for his departure.

Agreed. All of his super-friends were notified ahead of time including Paul and then Melo in Mexico. LeBron had his foot out the door since the end of the Finals. This is another PR attempt to save face and rescue LeBron's dwindling legacy. Still, it's going to be an interesting season full of drama in Cleveland, trade or no trade.

Lol. Dwindling after the 2011 finals and then he won back to back. Dwindling after losing to San Antonio and Golden State and then coming back from 3-1 against the best regular season team of all time. Dwindling after being the only team to win a game against the best team EVER in the playoffs; a team that would handily beat Jordan's Bulls despite all the oldheads here pretending he is invincible.

    Dwindling. Lmfao.
Only thing that has dwindled is Kobe's legacy. Kobe stans are FURIOUS and it shows.
