It's so crazy that Woj has been neutered. I hope he breaks the Melo deal. I feel bad for him.

Maybe before, his contacts were willing to play ball with him because he wasn't part of the big sports media. Or maybe ESPN is doing something behind the scenes to neuter him? Not sure...

If the Melo deal ever gets done (still holding out hope), I hope Morey adds a veteran big and a veteran guard. For bigs, Diaw is on a short list with Gasol and Speights. For guards, I'm hoping for Barbosa or Tony Allen.

When Diaw was released, it was a signal that something was amiss. We were engaged on that contract.

When the Knicks shut it down, nothing left to do but say goodbye to Diaw.

ESPN neutering Woj more effectively than Simmons.

No. But it was obvious deal was shut down. Will have to be rebuilt differently.

I doubt this. Assuming the Rockets were going to hold onto their "top 8" (minus Anderson), then I don't see a way they could have acquired both Melo and Diaw on his Jazz contract with the salaries they have to work with.

Diaw could be a great locker room/player-coach guy. Really high basketball IQ. Good passer. Decent shooter. Wouldn't have to play much. He's gotta be in the vet min years by now, right?

He's a fit even if Rockets can only give him 10-15 mins of playing time...

Other than that he is out of shape again, a terrible shooter, and really bad at basketball now, I don't see much downside.

Is he? I didn't watch many Jazz games this season, but when I did see him he didn't look that bad. He's been much bigger for years, since switching from PG to basically a point-forward. I disagree that he is bad at basketball now. The few times I saw him, he always made smart plays, running the offense from the top of the key.
