Drexler as the best player on the Blazers took his team to 2 NBA FInals
Lost to legendary teams of the bad boy pistons and jordan bulls

As a player past his prime, helped motivate Clutch City to a second championship

    Accomplishments not Kardasians

Yeah, that was really beautiful basketball in the playoffs. What an amazing thing to watch.... lol.

Doug Tony had a better team by almost anyone's objective measure and couldn't make the WCF.

McHale benched Harden and got us to the promised land in the EXACT scenario where Dontonio failed - game 6, round 2, elimination game where Haren played like Mark Madsen.

That must hurt when it goes in and comes out, waaaaaah more.

Over 200 votes, I bet 90% are so young they didn't see Drexler playing a single minute.

Because they see Drexler on tv and old Drexler rockets footage also.
    Portland Drexler was prime Drexler

I've watched both careers and they're both different players. It's also too early to compare.
Harden will get the paper stats because of the system and his position.

However, why I would choose Clyde?

    1) Clyde was more powerful and finished with dunks and finger rolls. Harden is more layups.
    2) Clyde could elevate higher than even Jordan. He shot over people, something Harden can't do. Harden is a step back or wait for the pick shooter.
    3) Clyde was a great 2 way guy. Fierce defender. Harden is getting better but no where near Clyde.
    4) Clyde led as the main guy the trailblazers to the finals twice. He also help lead with Dream a championship. He's got great heart.
    5) Clyde was a better 3 pt shooter and inside player.

Harden can pass up Clyde but until then, Drexler is a top 50 player of all time. Simply one of the best 2 guards of all time. Clyde shows up too in playoff games.

I saw Clyde play and he gets the nod over Harden. Clyde was dangerous on offense and could fly to the rim. Defensively he was above average as well.

Let me put it this way to all of you young guys that haven't seen clyde before (yeah youtube don't count), if we could magically put clyde in game 5 and game 6 against these Spurs, rockets would have have won easily. I'm a huge harden fan, but those last games were one of the worst games I've seen.

Very different players, and Harden's career is still in progress. But what matters in the end is results. Drexler took the Blazers to the Finals twice, and was an awesome #2 on the Rockets second championship team, so at this point, the nod has to go to Drexler.

We didn't beat the Spurs and did not advance to face the Warriors.

If you have Hakeem, I go with Drex. If you don't have Hakeem, I go with the beard

150-70 for harden loll, i swear this cupcake generation cracks me up. This whole era is bball is a joke comprised of floppers and 3 point chuckers. Dont see how u can compare this generations biggest choker to a all time great like drexler.

Drexler was great, but no need to dismiss all current players out of hand. There were plenty of chuckers and floppers and chokers in the 80s and 90s too. Maybe some rules have changed, but the current stars would have been successful in any era, IMO.

as core to build around in Rockets? Historic data told us, neither because they both were in Rockets through trade.

Clyde led teams to NBA finals then won a ring as the second best player. At this point I don't know if harden can accomplish that.

Harden has an edge in offensive box score stats (not as big an edge as you would think) but then drexler has a much bigger edge in defense
