is this really the first matchup of 60 win teams since utah/chicago? that seems crazy. i know it hasn't happened in the east, but none of the stacked west teams or the finals have produced such a matchup? SA ruined it last year, i guess SA didn't have 60 the year miami had 66? the lakers didn't have 60 the year boston had 66. boston didn't win 60 the next year when the lakers won 65. orlando almost beat 3 60 win teams in 2009 but obviously none of the 60 win teams faced off. porland only won 59 in 2000 i think. lakers only won 60 once in the 3-peat. seems amazing.
he has 2 old injury prone bigs , ancient manu , inconsistent danny green and a punch of young guys that barely get playing time. Their strength is the coach
Well, because of the rest throughout the season, these bench guys know what to do. I haven't watched many Spurs games, but I know these guys because Pop just randomly throws them in during regular season games.
Patty Mills can't make ANYTHING against the Warriors. But makes literally every shot against the Rockets. Because of course.
It's a little bit harder to make a shot when someone is putting a hand up, which didn't happen in any Rocket's games.
while i agree, it still starts with stacking the team. having a ton of versatile and smart defenders makes having a great team defense easier. when everyone on the team can pass and finish after catching a pass, you throw lots of passes and throw even more because you trust your teammates to do something good with it. a team like the rockets has basically one guy who can throw a pass (harden) and very few players who can do anything with it other than shoot an open 3. it's just easier to have better systems when the talent can take advantage of every option of the system. it's fun to watch, sure, but ultimately not impressive for any individual involved because it's just so lopsided.
Stop comparing their bench guys to ours. Pop has used them strategically through out the season in all kinds of situations to see exactly what he has with them. And that is why they are able to just step up one after the other and perform Pop has always had the big picture in mind.
actually atlanta in 2014-2015. but among actual contenders, i think boston in 2008 (edit: actually boston in 2010 but garnett got hurt for the playoffs)? and as i'm typing, bulls with 62 with rose in 2010-11.
