With the win over Minny, they clinched the playoffs.

Man when will they start to decline?

When Popovich finally hangs it up. He's the Bill Belichick of the NBA. If the NBA had a hard cap like the NFL, he'd be even more dominant because he can win without having a ton of resources.

I think theyll still be good when Pop hangs it up. He's instilled a system and culture that will echo forever.

They may end up the top seed now that the Warriors are reeling after Durant's injury.

They will get the 1st seed. Kawhi will be the MVP. We'll beat them in WCF.

I disagree. They could easily be a 6th or 7th seed next year. Parker and Manu are done. Lamarcus is slowing down. They do not have a ton of youth with potential. It will just be Leonard.

Kawhi is a beast. I try not to get to hyped with his game but he can do everything. Sadly its for the spurs.

The last time the spurs missed the playoffs was 96/97 when Robinson played like 6 games and they tanked for Tim Duncan. They've missed the playoffs like 4 times total in their NBA history. Unreal.

The team with the 3rd best overall record will clinch one next.

Those guys are barely doing anything this year, as long as Pop is there, they are a contender

This comment is doing a disservice to Popovich. Pop could coach any team to a top 5 record, I've never seen Bill be successful without Tom. He also doesn't cut corners the way Bill does. Pop, for me, is the best coach ever, in any sport

    Actually no.

Parker and Manu are 2 of the top 7 players with minutes played. And they are the culture of that team. The ages next year by playoffs...
Parker 36 (5th in minutes played)
Manu 41 (7th in minutes played)
David 35 (8th in minutes played)
Gasol 38 (4th in minutes played)
Aldridge 33 (2nd in minutes played)

That is a team that could have a lot of injuries.

Popivich will be 69 getting older does not help coaches either.

They have superior team management and coaching.

and their owner never changed their uniforms or colors based on making money.

Best franchise in the history of the NBA. For many reasons.

Belichick did win 11 games with Cassel as his starting QB in '08. A Cassel that hadn't started a game since high school. That's not an easy task.
