We might of gotten the 2nd best trade ever in Rockets history (Harden 1st). Lou is not just a scorer, but a scoring machine. Our bench is beyond ridiculous, I don't think there is a team that can match their bench players to current Rockets bench. It is only 1 game, but this 1 game is going to happen often than not. If Lou and Eric each gets 15+ from the bench, it is probaly game over for the other side.
Well, not trying to be a party pooper, but when against GSW, Lou is going to face Livingston, its gona be a tough match up. But it is a huge upgrade from Corey Brewer, now we at least have a chance.
Lou and EG take so much pressure off Harden, thus extending his career as a player. For years now, Harden has had to do too much for the Rockets to be successful. Ultimately, that level of sacrifice will take a toll on anybody's body and mind. Hopefully, the above is a thing of the past.
Ummmm, lou Williams is not going to hit 7 3 pointers every game. You know that right? You love him until he goes 1 for 10, and then we will see the lovefest truly begin.
Get off the gas...... malone? drelxer? lol Also, this cant be overstated. This enables Harden to do less, play less, and get more rest as the playoffs roll around.. He deserves it. Morey should be EOY!
He averages 19 a night in 24 minutes a game. More often than not he is going to bring that, along with Eric Gordon. Pretty sure the lovefest is here to stay.
Not only that, having that many good shooters on a team means that only a couple, perhaps a third player, need to get hot on any given night for a win to happen against the vast majority of NBA teams.
Lou is not just a shooter, he can also facilitate and get to the FT line. Can impact the game in other ways if his shot isn't falling
why are you singling out lou facing Livingston only. any one of the rockets perimeter players can/will be facing him not just him
Lou Williams got us spoiled fast...He sets the bar pretty high..lol Now we expect him to score 20 plus points every game
Well he averages 18.7 so I think our expectations aren't too outrageous Also, the previous bar was pretty low with Brewer. This guy is relatively an allstar in comparison to what we were getting from that spot before.
It was a good trade. He's a good fit. No he's not going to hit 7 3 pointers a night and he isn't going to shoot over 50% for the rest of the season. That won't make him less valuable though. As long as he continue to shoot his average this year he will be very dangerous to other teams. @dragonz mentioned Lou matching up with Livingston being a problem. That may in fact be true that Livingston will actually do some damage whereas last night the Pelicans roster had nothing to hurt our guards. The flipside of that is that in past games against the Warriors their bench was able to feast against our scrub bench. Our starts would get worn down and try to hang with their bench! Then our bench would come in and get beaten down. If nothing else we can now have 48 minutes of dangerous guard play.
Look out San Antonio, we just got one step closer to knocking you off that Division Podium leader spot with Lou Williams giving us that extra strength we need for the knockout punch!!
He's a 40% 3pt shooter He's not going to hit 7 threes a game but he's prob not going 1-10. Save that for your own parsons brick fest with your own team. See you in the 1st round and you can watch us wax that ass.
Prior to the Lou Williams trade, I had thought we needed another player who could come in and on occasion, knock shots to the tune of 20-25 points. That is needed when playing against the Warriors. Those guys have had our number in recent years because of their bench production, as alluded by justtxyank.
Lou WIlliams without doubt had the 2nd best debut as a Rocket player I think right after Harden exploding once he was traded to us. Now let's see if he can have an equally good Game 2 as a Rocket just like Jim
