Not a weird move at all if you look at the Bulls history the last 10-15 years. The Bulls are always behind the curve. Of course they want a player that is a dinosaur.

 

Rockets should trade for Mike Scott. He's struggled this year and has recently been out of the rotation. He can shoot and rebound and is very cheap.
Muscala wouldn't be bad either.

 

Not a bad pickup for ATL. Looks like they're going to go all in and maybe looking for a Millsap replacement (his contract ends either this year or next, I believe and there were trade rumors earlier in the year).

 

Its not that they're behind the curve its that the owner doesnt really care about bball and just treats the Bulls like a cash cow so the team's MO is to do a "splash" move that gives hope to their player base. Okafor is just the latest "hope" they give Chicago fans after the Wade hype last year.

Bulls might end up trading Butler (cuz the owner doesnt really want to contend) so I guess Okafor is the new Koolaid they will sell to the hapless Bulls fans.
