Harden has been losing MVP status well before this game, and it has nothing to do with how his teammates have played.
Maybe Tim Hardaway Jr is one of the "BIrds" that Codman mentioned (certainly he was available for 2nd rounders, according to...was it Zach Lowe?). Maybe he was either auditioning or sticking it to us for not trading for him. In any case, this was a pathetic loss by a team that's running on fumes. Everything was great when they were winning; but there are no coaching adjustments at all, and the team has no other weapon when it drops the dagger that is the three point shot. Christ Almighty, no trade will happen until the deadline, IF it happens; and between the Super Bowl being here (and all the celebrities that involves) and the long two weeks yawning before them until All Star Break, I don't know what to expect. Harden can't do it all. What a joke of a game.
20 point lead with 8:30 left, there is no excuse for blowing this game. Who was guarding Hardaway? DD
Is that so? It's one thing that the whole team struggles, but there's no doubt that Harden is the one guy that carries the team. To me that's the definition of the MVP.
Lol people really talking about mvp. Who cares. The rockets lost a 20 pts lead and lost. Thats the real concern.
No one. He had a few open 3s and was escorted to the rim for a few highlight dunks. Rockets rolled out the... and made him look like a superstar.
Excuse me, did Harden play well in the last few weeks, or was I seeing something totally different? Carrying this team? To what? 8 losses in the last 13 games?
the difference is gordon and anderson fell back down to reality there is no way they could sustain that type of shooting from that distance the entire season. teams are on point on defense and this is where dantoni offensive schemes struggle. as the game goes on they make adjustments and teams with better defense win the games. I would say we need a trade, but what's the point? Golden State Warriors. man **** kd
Gordon got blown by/completely lost him early in the 4th. Then Ariza couldn't stay with him. And Capela got caught hedging way too high several times, and was late on rotations.
It was a weird game, in the 1st and 3rd quarters we looked great, in the 2nd and 4th....terrible......just bizzare.... They got hot, but if we score in the 4th we still win...... Same for the 2nd - this team still has some growing up to do......they have to learn how to win, the NBA has caught up to how we want to play, and they just stay home....and once again, if we don't drive the lane enough, we fall apart. We need more balance......a few more 2s. DD
I kinda agree but these dudes are missing wide open shots. What is their 3p% in January? I have feeling it is way below their average. MDAs offense is generating open shots, that's all you can really ask of it. We know his offense works but the players are slumping all at the same time.
honestly, I blame tired legs. The first thing to go when you are tired is your jumpshot. I blame mike for not subbing more. honestly we should give each one of the shooters 10 days off. rotate their off time. let them rest up, pop does it around this time in the season because he knows how much these seasons take a toll on you. with all the travel i am sure theyre tired.
Yep. Harden can only do so much but when everyone is missing everything he creates for them not sure how much he can do.
