He averages slightly over 1 turnover a game. He does not turn over the ball very often.

Players benefit from a good system - doesn't take anything away from the players.

Look at Golden State - you think they just get lucky in the draft? Same with SA. A big part of it is their system. That's why Durant is flourishing over there.

Dekker and Harrell and Capela would be crappy players on a crappy team but still would be big-time contributors on a Golden State, a SA, or another team that shares the ball well and rewards high energy players.

Arent most good players a product of the system they're in? Its not just minor players who get molded into good players. Even Steve Nash, Harden and Curry got better in different systems.

I DO think CIRCUMSTANCE and setting can bring out best in players, which is basically the same as a "system". Chandler Parsons might never have gotten off the bench and become a max player if he was drafted by another team. The Rockets system and foundation allowed him to thrive.

I also think once players do improve in a system, the skills stay and they staying being decent players on other clubs. Maybe not always the SAME level, but close to previous level. George Hill and Corey Joseph are good away from SA. Carl Landry can still get jobs. (What happens is they emerge on a team and they get way overpaid and overrated when free agency comes. They dont make some big improvement to justify pay usually and look like "fool's gold" because of it. But they didnt always get "worse" its they stayed the same).

I don't know about Capela and Harrell, but it does make me wonder how much better D'Antoni's system may have made Amare Stoudemire look.

I see a lot of development coming out of Harrell. There's a subtle push for him to develop a mid-range/3 pt shot. Obviously his ability to play the PnR, play good defense, and clear rebounds will serve him well. Capela has a potential to develop a serviceable post game along with his athletic strengths. I think its the system that has allowed them to develop into players that will do well in any PnR based system.

You can't be serious. Capela has a hard time against at least a 1/3 of the Centers in this league both physically and mentally.

Capella is only in his 3rd year with lots of upside. He's very athletic and puts in the effort. He will be close to a max player. Either the Rockets max him or someone else will.

No Capela isn't a max player but i fear we might have to pay him that kinda money for him to stay. In the current nba climate, bigs that can walk without falling face down gets paid bigly.

Disagree with the "mentally" part. The big qualitative jump in Capela's impact this season is mainly because he does not have that mental issue anymore. It used to be that if he got blocked, or he started out bad, or Harden missed him on a roll to the baket, or his opponent was a star he'd wilt. He is not doing that at all anymore. Whether he's playing Cousins or Asik, he is going back at them over and over again relentlessly. He is guarding them smarter, though he can STILL improve a lot on his man to man defensive discipline. He's not falling for as many fakes. He's not disappearing in games at all.

Capela has played really well this season, we should acknowledge what has changed. Physically he's a bit stronger but nothing major. His range is not better. The difference this season is confidence and a slight improvement in his post play, and I guess his FT's are a bit better too. He is showing he is the kind of player that responds to adversity with more work, and that's a really awesome rare quality out of a 22-23 year old.

IMO he is going to continue to improve mentally. He's had 2-3 seasons in the league and started very young and had to adjust to a new country/league. He is obviously going to get stronger, you can see it in his physical growth over the last 2-3 years.

If he continues this trajectory of hard work and small improvements every season, multiple teams will be willing to offer him Ryan Anderson money so it is fair to say he's going to be a near max player.

His skills fit the system very well. His mid range shot was money and he could pick and roll very well.

Morey should trade them both for stars before they demand huge contracts.
