The more I think about Morey's forward thinking and always having an eye for the future, I think he allows D-Mo to become a Brooklyn Net.

It depends upon D'Antoni imho, if he wants him, Morey will match.

i really hope we play it safe and match. the pace at which we play is taxing, and there are bound to be players going out with nicks and bruises...dmo gives us depth...

if there's ever a time to make a push in the playoffs, it's this year.

Not to mention Anderson and Nene have a history of being injured. I think it would smart to match as well.

True, which is why I think Bobby Brown stays, and WItljer goes....

He will like Wiltjer but realizes that he is a couple of years away where DMo can help now.

From what I heard on the contract it allows them to cut him a various points without much of a penalty. Since the option to lose him for nothing via not signing him is the same thing as cutting him, it might makes sense to keep him and cut him if it doesn't work out. At least he stays as an asset in the mix and the no trade only applies for this year. If he doesn't work out early on, they cut him at the early out in January. I think the hold up could be because they are trying to move other assets before they sign him but that is just a guess and DM (daryl morey not donatas motiejunas) has always been a master of deception.

    Hmmm. interesting.

Match AFTER the game, so you don't have to cut someone?

Do the rockets have to be at 14 roster spots in order to match, or can they match at 15 and have a certain amount of time to get down to 15.

If we have to cut Wiltjer would it be too late to add him to the Vipers

That would be up to him, if he feels he might get called back, then he might sign with them, or he could sign with someone else - he would be an UFA - and we would have zero control.

Probably yes because you know what? I really think the Nets will claim his contract as soon as we cut him lol

How many minutes is DMo even gonna get? It makes sense to match in case there's an injury but considering how well Dekker and Harell have been playing.. Don't see how he fits here.

I can't see Morey foregoing such a high upside value asset for possible marginal flexibility for one summer.

Dekker is primarily a SF, fortunate to be in an offense that has a 4 role that is not much diffeeent than the 3. MDA has said that.

He fits by benching Brewer and returning Dekker to his college position of SF taking all Brewers minutes and still get spot minutes at PF.
