Where do you work? Now imagine tomorrow you're shipped off across the country, and when you get there you're expected to do the same job... but under a new boss who does everything different. Do you honestly think that won't require an adjustment? Given that they can't just get all new players to start over, having some consistency in how the organization is run is one of the most important facets when relocation occurs (this is true with all companies facing relocation). I agree that it really doesn't matter that he's done it before (relocation).. but attempting to instill a new regime now would be a recipe for disaster for that franchise (especially since Fisher isn't bottoming out)... and likely end up requiring yet another regime change when the predictable flail happens, as most relocated teams find early success difficult.
LOL! Sorry . . . I mean he stabbed Pardee in the back to get his job 2-14 season - Then Drafted the No Brainer (Which was more Bud than him) Rocket River
It's the pornstache. He's one of those guys that should have been bumped/fired back down to a defensive coordinator job long ago, but he's just stuck around being mediocre while working for some of the worst ownership in the NFL, hence his last decade or so with Tennessee and St Louis.
That was Floyd Reese that picked McNair and wanted McNair. Fisher was pissed they didn't use the # 3 pick on Kevin Carter.
Once defensive coaches realized that blitzes forced bad passes, and that tight coverage made a system passer indecisive and immobile, the run and shoot was unusable. Pardee took a six or seven Pro Bowler team built on Holovak's drafts, got rid of all the blocking backs and went on autopilot for five years.

Fisher feels like you dad, that's how he gets hired, but the entire time he's just doing exactly what the media wants when they want it, and telling you exactly what you want to hear when you are just about to choke him for not hearing it. It's how he floats just before he might sink. It comes off as holding to his own guns ( We're going with Collins, We're going with Keenum, We are going to run the ball ) right up until he caves to the media and gives them what they want before an execution ( It's tim to start VY, It's time to start Goff, I'm going to let Heimendinger open up the offense for McNair) . Survival 101, he always has an outlet to relieve the pressure. It's like D'Antoni saying he's not responsible for the defense. That was genius.
Kroencke had a chance to start totally new, but he forgot to flush the toilet (Fisher) and is leaving a big load of crap in the bowl for the next HC. If Stan even cares about winning.Stan's greatest accomplishment is that he marry's well. As forthe case of keeping Fisher is bogus. These types of things happen all of the time in the corporate world. Truth is this was just an excuse that Stan used to get out of paying for another HC while Fisher is still under contract. It's all part of the game.
I was just about to post something about his pornstache but then when you just liked my earlier post it reminded me that I posted that 9 months ago.
Fisher is absolutely the most overrated longtime NFL coach in history. Just look at his W/L record and marvel how he keeps getting extensions.
The little that I caught from finally checking out Hard Knocks is that California laid back demeanor, along with possibly being able to relate to players. He may also be like Vermeil during his comeback in that's he been around long enough that he's got a good rolodex of assistants to call on.
