Texans will have to renounce their naming rights deal with NRG if they want to keep this nucleus together long term. Tune into 610 & the Chron for more coverage. - John 'The General' McClain

    Nucleus?
    LOL

But to play along, we are going to need to dump Cushing, Joseph, Duane Brown and Derek Newton over the next two years so that will free up money. However, the real problem with the nucleus issue is that we aren't drafting well enough and/or getting unlucky with our draft picks that we don't have cheap guys that are young filling out the roster at high levels of play. Who cares about the nucleus.

Why should we? According to the great fans here we suck. Who would want to keep a sucky team together?

Completely agree. That tends to happen when you keep trading away picks and overpaying guys.

But Rick and McNair said they have a plan

RB may be interchangeable but not it's impact on the team's resources. A lot is invested in our current back and a high pick will probably be used if/when they move on from Lamar years down the line. If not we'll be seeing 15-20 carries for Alfred Blue just-a-guy types.

The answer to this question is yes. By the time Clowney, Fuller, Kev J, etc. will need to be paid the big money vets like Joseph, Cushing, Brown, Wilfork will likely be off the roster.
