    On the eve.

    James Fallows has some words:

... the most extreme contrast of personal, intellectual, and political styles in America’s democratic history. Right brain versus left brain; gut versus any portion of the brain at all; impulse versus calculation; id versus superego; and of course man versus woman. The two parties’ conventions this summer were stark contrasts in tone, stagecraft, and lineup of speakers. But they took place in different cities at different times. The first debate will be a matter-meets-antimatter conjunction at a single point. Live sports, from the Olympics to the Kentucky Derby, differ from other TV programming and compel live viewership because no one knows beforehand how things will turn out. The same is true of live presidential debates, above all any including Donald Trump.

I'm not so interested in the debate (based on available knowledge, I think I know how it will play out), but I am interested in what questions get asked and how the media and the Righties react to the debate.

Leave it to Giant Douche and Turd Sandwich to block a third party's or independent's participation.

A debate between Hillary and a Hillary supporter that is a life-long Democrat doing what they believe to be an impersonation of a Republican just isn't all that interesting to me.

I might tune in for a bit if the Falcons and Saints game is boring but it's not "Must See TV!" or anything.

What should the Debate Drinking Game be?

Every time the host says W? She does/says X? He does/says Y? They show person Z in the audience?

I find it sad that trump and his supporters have been slinging this poo for the last couple of weeks in anticipation of the debate. Trying to build in excuses from the beginning. Making threats if the moderators fact check him is pathetic. Don't blame the moderators when your candidate is constantly called out on his many many lies.

Every time you think, "God dammit is this really where we're at as a country?" you have to take a shot.

You'll be out before the first commercial break but you'll be better for it.

neutrality goes out the window once you decide who and what to interrupt/correct

media trashed Jim Lehrer for staying out of it, applauded Raddatz and Crowley for interrupting/correcting the GOP candidate

That's because in the campaign Trump has told far demonstrable lies. The guy can't talk for 10 minutes without saying something demonstrably false. Everyone already knows Clinton isn't honest. That's not news.

Trump has only now decided to involve himself in civil service and did so on the premise that he would be different than the dishonest corrupt politicians. Turns out he's only different in that he lies even more than Hillary and other politicians

Exactly. There is no such thing as unbiased media outside of the official transcript of what these candidates say.

If mainstream news was really just a presentation of facts, video, and images with no interpretation made from analysts and anchors, and made up of unfiltered non-curated content that would be great.

    But its not.
