If this guy slips to the second round, you have to take a flyer. Too skilled to pass on.

Well he tried to get him to fall.

    Pick 10.

Would've been 1 next year - score for the Bucks!! Play him in DLeague half the year then let him loose.
Not sure how he fits with their squad, but anyway

I didn't like the pick at all. But it was far better than what Kidd wanted Dejounte Murray.
After thinking more about it I don't think he's the prototypical boom or bust player.
Because even if he doesnt' turn up well he is still a shotblocking big with great work ethic who isn't afraid of contact.
But I don't see any real star potential for him either since he doesn't have a great feel for the game and that's unfixable.
So best case scenario probably a defensive C that can space the floor a bit.

I hope he works out into a star but the more I look at it the less I am convinced he really has it in him.

LOL probably Thon is not 19 but 24. There has been a huge deal made out of it and even Australian newspaper have picked up the story.

malakas: off-topic question but will Jabari Parker remain at the PF position and is now primarily a PF?

Yeah. He moves great. Seems to be in the right spot a lot for rebounds. Very springy... At his height it's dangerous.

Offense will still need some work. I think he thinks he's better or more versatile there than he actually is right now. But it looks like the base is there as opposed to just a Biyombo-esque offensive dud.

19... Or 24... If he can play he can play.

With the advances in medical technology over the years, will it ever be possible to record a persons exact age down to the seconds they have existed? The very moment of conception on is the true age of a person, while birth is just the moment they left the womb. I think it might be possible to measure somebody's age based on conception age someday.

This simply isn't medically true. Age begins, as one would expect, with when you are born. Anything before that is simply the equivalent of a universal primordial soup.

Using your logic, anyone that has ever died before they lost their ability to procreate, is essentially killing off babies, because they are potential that is wasted.

Granted, religion likes to attach labels to random phases of existence or non-existance, in order to promote order and a sense of belonging in the community. Nothing wrong with that, but it's out of place in a discussion where age has a definitive medical meaning.

real age =/= actual body age.
We can test for actual body age, but its still can have up to 5years +/-. And thats the reason its useless in pro sports, where 5years difference, is difference between top tier prospect and already developed player that will only have minor improvements.

To finish what i wrote. Thon Maker might actually be 19y old. He might be 24y old with actual body age that is similar to 19-20y old. Or he might be 24y with body of 24-25. I personally think he is 22-23.

I dont even know. He showed he was berter off as sf but he wants to be a sf. Its better to think of him as a combo forward who will change assignments depending on matchup- always to the worst other forward.

Speaking about Thon i still have the same opinion I had even after watching him in SL. No star potential energy big roleplayer.

I dont think you'll be able to test, for human rights issues. Seriously. Because of the advances in technology, the test might also include bone density (likely for injury) for example, and athletes and players unions will not allow for these data to be dispersed.

Even if you do the test, it doesnt actually prove birth date, as in, it might show the "body age" but not the actually birth date, body maturity might differ from each individual for all kinds of reasons. Right now testing for real birth age is impossible.
