On what planet do you pitch to Correa instead of Gomez? I'll take it but wow I'd be pissed if I was an A's fan.
Hinch likes showing confidence in his players... to a fault sometimes. Last 3 games, he's lost 16 points off his BA. He'll bounce back strong. _______________________ Astros win !!!! 6-4 home stand is decent and acceptable. Rangers losing too!!!
Wait...Astros won? I thought they lost based on all the comments a few pages back. When will some posters learn. That is the 13th last at bat win for Houston this year.
Man, talk about stealing a game. Even though it was only one run, it never really felt like we were gonna win this one. Keuchel, with a very Dallas Keuchel start, and awesome work by the pen after some sketchy recent results.
Mr. 5 tool walk-off king strikes again! Not a conventional walk-off, but I never have any doubt when teams pitch to Correa in a game winning spot. No idea why the A's didn't just walk him and face Gomez were they seriously scared of a bases loaded walk from Gomez? Also, thank you Ryan Madson.
Coming into the Oakland Series Altuve was hitting .350. .346 after game 1 .347 after game 2 .343 after game 3 .341 after today. He is slumping but hasn't lost that many points off his average. You were probably looking at OBP where he has lost 16 points. EDIT - Those sacrifice bunts cost you in terms of OBP.
What's deal with the Astros offense this series against the A's? I mean, besides the 10-9 win on Friday, it seems as though the bats have gone cold these last 2 games. And what bad timing for the Astros to be losing to the A's at home when the Rangers are not doing great against the Twins. Astros could've easily had a 4 1/2 GB going into the break. Oh well! All-Star break and we'll see how far the Astros will go the rest of the way. 48-41 - 2016 49-42 - Last Year
