    Carlos Correa, since April 12:
    .179/.281/.214/.496

    He'll be fine but... wow.

Not sure how quiet it is... It was acknowledged that as Altuve and Springer got ultra hot, Correa/White/Tucker have all cooled off. His AB in the first inning of the Hamels game could have literally been the turning point and difference between winning and losing that game (Hamels was all over the place, 2-0 count, and Correa swings at 3 straight balls for a K).

Rasmus has been the most consistent bat all year (and, I guess Altuve).

I was actually more concerned about Correa's defense.... Only one error on the year, but he's been slow to some ground balls up the middle, and he missed that key relay throw.

As long as he's not hurt... He'll probably turn it around. Already had some decent opposite field swings the last two games. Good players slump, but his slump is magnified on a team with all sorts of struggles and a 6-9 that may be one of the all-time worst 6-9's on a MLB team.

Ok, I know it is struggling... but that is 100% knee-jerk.. ALL TIME WORST, cmon, that's ridiculous.

I dont think any of our players performances are tiptoeing under anybodies radar. This team, its coaches and players are all under the microscope.

The team as a whole is doing so badly right now, and sub-standard performance so widespread and readily known, were about at the point where pointing to a specific player and how bad he is doing is akin to rubbing salt in a wound.

And his defense has not been great either.

The Astros have been a below .500 club ever since Hinch the purist threw that pitcher under the bus for throwing at Alex Rodriguez last year at mmp park. That's when they went to chit. He destroyed the mindset of the team. Opposing hitters ain't afraid of gettin pitched inside so they just lean over the plate and knock the hell out of it vs our players who get pitched inside at everygame cause they know our pitchers won't retaliate cause of hinchy. At least we still got the hype and that showboater gomez . When I'm right I'm right.

Yep you're right it was obelhotzer. And hinch made a big public apology to arod and the Yankees. Imagine any other team and manager in league doing that for the Astros if say they threw at altuve. Would never happen. I don't think the Astros pitchers hit another opposing batter after that. It had an effect, and not a good one.

I guess this is the thread for it...

Carlos Correa is an incredibly disappointing defensive shortstop.

He wasn't last season, he was just fine.

He isn't playing well right now, but he's still only 21, and it's early.

I know. He is, as you said, just fine, no more, no less. If someone else is a better SS, I sure wouldn't hesitate to move him to 3B.

Another fielding miscue for Correa in the 10th.
