Tmac and Yao were way better than Howard and Harden.

Harden knows how to make his teammates better.

    Lol, more excuses for Tmac!!

He had Yao Ming and Vince Carter during his career.

Both of those dudes made it further without his ass

Harden would probably treat Tmac like he was Khloe

Harden could quit the NBA right now and already have a much more distinguished resume as a Rocket than T-Mac. And I liked T-Mac.

I don't undestand what is the OP's definition of "better". Saying T-Mac was a better Rocket than Harden is demonstrably false in almost every way. Maybe T-Mac was better at dunking?

Mac had better defensive potential, had better height and wingspan measurement numbers.

I have to add when he put his mind to it and fully healthy but most of the time his Defense was better

and I do not think Harden can defend 2005/06 Dirk when Dirk was in his prime

and still dunk on Shawn Bradley, the beggar version of Yao Ming at the same time

If we're only talking talent, this can't be true.

mcGrady was arguably the most talented player of all time. He just didn't have the ridiculous work ethic later in his career.

I mean really, 6'8, super smooth, great passer, ball handler, defender, shooter (back in his Orlando days).

More random ad hoc arguments that make no sense?

Tin man has entered the thread. The rest of us should leave before its 40 pages of destructive conversation.

People forget that he was compared to Jordan, him and Kobe lmao

Harden will likely never come close to Kobe

Tmac was the best player at age 23, nobody can take that away from him.

Unfortunately he declined 2 years from 23 yrs forward and that was around the

    time he joined the Rockets.

He was a Top 15 player 2 years after he joined the Rockets and fell down to

being just a role player within 4 or 5 years at the time when Adelman's team

was going to make noise in the playoffs

Sweet memories in the Dallas playoff series until we got robbed

Dunk on Bradley, his D on Dirk, Mike Who James going crazy and help us win 2 games in Dallas to go 2-0 in the American Airlines Center

I felt really darn good about that series.

And of course the dunkings, those slick passes over half the court, 13 in 33 against the Spurs

Wasn't a hard worker and injuries got to him

Could have worked out with Lowry and Scola when they joined earlier.

No matter what. There are some good playoff memories as well as regular season ones. ;)

They had more consistent coaching. But there's no doubt the talent of Harden and Howard too this team to the WCF along with exceptionally performing role players. This team fatigues hardcore due to horrible coaching. Can you blame them?

I think people mistake excitement for better. Yao and Tmac were definitely the more exciting duo. Yao started his career as a Rocket and was loved by all. Tmac with his flashy dunks was IMO definitely more exciting to watch then Harden with his flopping ways.

Dwight has stopped caring and is not easy to cheer for anymore. Harden has never cared on defense and to me that shows a lack of maturity. Him being in the lime light for parties, strippers and the Kardashians is a major turn off. Tmac and Yao for all their faults, showed passion and wanted to win at all costs. This group of Rockets wanna have a b**** ass team meeting after every game.

McGrady's game was more aesthetic than Harden's. But he was never as efficient mainly because by the time he played for the Rockets, he gradually decreased his drive to the basket and he is not as good a 3pt shooter as Harden.

Here's all the years Tmac didn't make it pass the first round of the playoffs.
I didn't calculate how many teammates and coaches there were that allegedly screwed him over and pissed of all the tmac fans of the world.

He cannot play everywhere, not a SF

Name one more talented SF. (Harden and Drexler are SGs)
