Rockets trade D-Mo, Thornton to Pistons for first round pick

I do not know anything about anything, apparently.

But I sure enjoyed watching Dmo when he got to play. I have not enjoyed much of this season at all. 7 footers running the break are the best.

 

hopefully the pick will be helpful for a big move ...

 

i wonder if we were the 9th place team trading our pick for expiring contracts, would clutchfans rejoice?

 

How will we replace DMo's points?

I'm pretty f***ing furious to be honest. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong to hate a Morey trade. But still, a top 20 pick isn't really appealing to me seeing as we have been below average at mid tier first rounders for a while now.

For the people who are saying D-Mo's damaged goods - give me a break. Stan Van Gundy knows full well D-Mo has had trouble recovering, I'm sure their physician practically impregnated D-Mo during his physical for this trade to go through.

The only POSSIBLE thing I can think of which makes this sensible is: D-Mo's agent hints to Morey how much he wants and shows him a team who has already said they're willing to pay him an inflated amount. Morey decides not to waste anyone's time and grabs a pick in the process.

Still, man, D-Mo was a really good fit with Harden. Let's see what unfolds I guess.

 

D-Mo was my favorite player on the team. I don't want to work today.

 

Do people really believe that pick is valuable? Come on now...the Pistons are currently in the play-offs and the Bulls are falling hard, Miami could fall out..

 

With DMo getting healthy, Morey couldn't find him any minutes on the court, since Brewer is the starting PF. Gotta trade DMo if you can't find minutes in our deep frontline.
Also, Thornton's shooting was making Harden look bad, so he had to go too
Morey gonna trade everyone who shoots better than Harden

Yup but Morey isn't God and he has wasted away Howard's years.

And his superstar trade Harden has not been so blessed with a ring either.

This kid is young Barkley, Love or Rodman - total rebound machine. Only problem why he's not top 5, is wingspan.

 

a) can't walk when he's a rfa
b) who cares
c) who cares if you trade one of your best young players for that! When Lawson is still part of the roster
d) who cares if the one brought back isn't as good as DMO.


The only good thing? Openlayupwhytroll is gone. Only that.

 

I get why Morey did it but it's hard as a fan to see a guy who we thought was an up and coming, legitimate starting caliber 4 that had a unique skillset get traded away for a mid round pick.

Chances are someone is going to overpay him this summer, so Morey is hedging his bets here. He doesn't want to lose Howard, D-Mo, and to a lesser extent Lawson and Jones for nothing.

Still hurts to see a guy who many thought could be our #3 guy get dealt away for so little, even if it is a good trade by market standards.
