I think Joe can give us that post up game to force teams to double and leave shooters wide open. Also his defensive is pretty good, I would be open to trading T Jones, KJ, and Ty Lawson. He gave Corey Brewer the blues the other night and can shoot the 3 as well.
his contract is gigantic so you would probably have to send dwight to satisfy the cap rules, which is a nonstarter for me
He's done next year and can be bought out if necessary, plus including Tjones, Ty Lawson, and KJ would give us scoring at any time with Harden, Ariza, Brewer, Thornton, and Joe. Our second unit would lite up 2nd units and give Harden more rest.
Corey Brewer gives himself the blues.. why trade away assets to do this? In all seriousness, JJ makes $25mil this year - even tho he's expiring after this year, he's still not worth that contract. This team is also finally regaining the chemistry from last year.
So... How do we match contracts to get him here again? Did you say buy him and his 24 mill contract out if it doesn't work?
He will NO get bought out. There is no reason and serves no purpose. It's not like the Nets owner is cheap and they dont' own their pick. Next year with a good small cheap contract we should be very interested in getting him, even though I think he will end up with the Cavs.
I'd take Joe in a heartbeat. He's the best wing we have outside of Harden. He can create, post & hit 3's. Could you imagine how many wide open looks he'll get playing with Harden? Or how wide open the lanes will be if the D decides not to leave Joe? Our offense would be impossible to contain
We need a thread called incredibly stupid ideas to merge these sort of threads in... Oh wait! We do! It's called the Random Trade thread!
God no. Thornton does what Joe is doing at like 90% off. Morey needs to bring Thornton back after this season.
He's only hitting 29% of his 3 pointers this season? Wow. Sorry, gotta say no to Joe. If he was making his threes like he used to then I'd say sure. He has an expiring deal, and if we could get rid of brewer (and his contract) and Thornton while also getting a good 3 point shooter, then I'd say yes. But since he is shooting terribly, I have to say no.
