He basically did not have KD on his team most of the last season. I can't believe Okc did not allow him to have his second chance and see what happen this season with KD playing. Well, I guess we live in unfair society.

Seriously, I was expecting a well written explanation with such a declarative title.

It's the NBA. It's not about are you doing a good job. There are tons of good coaches that get fired. The real question is, "Are you the right coach to lead this team to a championship series and win?"

KD and Westbrook are not going to be young forever. Winning 50+ games every years and being in the conversation is great but if a GM feels like he can improve his team be making a coaching change then he is obligated to do so.

Don Cheney was fired from the Rockets coaching staff after winning COY award. Clearly he did a good job. Re was replaced by Rudy T. Does anyone think that was the wrong move?

Paul Westhead was fired by the LA Lakers immediately after winning an NBA Championship. He was replaced by Pat Riley. Does anyone think that was the wrong move?

A GM should always be looking to improve his team and give them the best chance to win a Championship. Even if that means firing a great coach to bring in a better one.

Because they thought they could do better with someone else. Simple as that.

The reason is very simple for me. As Cuban said sometime ago, there's only 1 winner and the rest are losers. If you can't win the finals or at least bring the team to finals, then you're not the coach the team is looking for. If you can bring the team to the finals but can't win it all after several tries then it's better to look somewhere else and see if there'll be another chance to win it all.

OKC rightfully wanted to open the offense up to maximize the talents of Durant and Westbrook. They gave Brooks muitple seasons to do this. He gets a pass for the injuries in the playoffs, but he even last year without KD, they ran more hero ball with Westbrook instead of trying to run a more modern offense. Then there was his stubbornness when it came to certain players and poor substitutions. I always viewed him as an impediment to the Thieves winning a title.

Why is "did" such an important word in making a declarative statement into a question?

Because he was widely recognized as a mediocre coach

I got to get this off my chest. OKC is a great and smart organization. They knew Harden was remotely on any of Westbrook, Durant, nor Ibaka's level and they were right to make the other three a priority over Harden. I think Westbrook could have been had via trade for Martin and fillers. What was Westbrook's contract situation after the 2012 season?

If Marc Jackson was kept as the GSW coach, would the Warriors still have won the championship last season?

Oh that one is simple. Hollins didn't want to cooperate or listen to the analytics department and his philosophy clashed with the ownership's.
He also had problems with Z-Bo.

This was an idiotic post. That Harden trade was one of the worst ever. OKC didn't have to pick Harden over any of those three players. They just had to amnesty Perkins, who is no longer on the team anyway. Are you serious?

They felt that they needed to shake things up a bit to take the team to the next level.

It was obvious that the team was relying on talent rather than the coaching during Scott's tenure.

So it was worth the risk.
