Most underrated superstar in NBA history.

Had a conversation with him once in the Rice Village (late 90s). Very reserved and didn't say much until I asked about his son. That's when he lit up and talked very proudly about Jr. playing at Friendswood H.S. He went on and on about all of the college scouts attending his games; he even mentioned the recruiting letters (by University) they were receiving. I just remember listening and thinking, "he'd rather gush over his son than tell old war stories of himself and the league's golden era."

But that was Big Mo. Always more comfortable with the spotlight on others, and a true family man.

    Rest in peace, Big Fella.

RIP. Very sad for one of the all time NBA greats and Rockets' legend to pass away so young.

Shocking. Very saddening. He was a great NBA Champion and a legendary Houston Rocket.
He played a huge role in the development of Hakeem. Without Moses, Clutch City may not have taken place.
    RIP.

I am SO SO saddened to have heard this. One of my favorite players EVER.

I remember me and a few of my buddy's would go to Fonde every week during the summer to check out their summer league. It feels like yesterday watching a young Hakeem (before his soph yr) going at it with Big Mo.

It cracks me up when I see these lists come out of the greatest centers of all-time, and Malone is way down the list (if mentioned at all). If you ever saw him play during his yrs with the Rockets & Philly you'd have him in the mix of Karrem, Russell, and Hakeem as the greatest ever. YES over Shaq!!!!

Could Shaq have taken a team that basically had nothing, and beat Kareem/Magic and take that team on his back all the way to finals against Boston? HELL NO!!

Greatest rebounder of all time, Most under-rated player of all time. Best motor in the game. A well respected man always played the game with dignity.

Top 15 player of all-time. One of the greatest centers ever and an overall fantastic career.

Nemesis of KAJ and several other players.

Wow wow, In 14 games in Feb 1982, he averaged 38.1 ppg and 17.3 rpg. Scored 40+ points six times, and also grabbed 20+ rebounds six times. Fantastic

    RIP Moses Malone

I'm guessing most here are too young, or were even alive, to remember Moses Malone, especially his Rockets days.
