Justice: McHale should talk to, not iso, Les Alexander

Truth. In the McHale press conference he said he'd rather have Pop. In this guy's mind, Pop could take Daryl's roster and do better than Rick. That's because he doesn't understand that Pop has always had better players than most anyone in the league the entire time he's been a coach. Unfortunately Less can't make this connection. Too bad for us that he doesn't recognize his ignorance and leave basketball stuff to the guys who do it for a living, but instead makes decisions based on it. Pop wouldn't treat him any differently than JVG or Rick did.

Sports is completely different. Just like Hollywood. The most important person to the success of the Cleveland Cavaliers "company" last year was Lebron James, not the owner.

How can you dispute that?

Everyone sees how sports and entertainment is different than regular businesses. The primary money making assets are key employees (players and coaches)...not the boss...not the shareholders, etc.

Also, you want to make a "reality" business analogy...the richest person in the world (Warren Buffett) is reknowned for his hands-off approach to his management teams. Compared to Buffet's management style, Less is a kid in a candy store looking to rub elbows with the coach, and luxury box owners, and feel like he has a say in making a winning team....he is nothing more than a Fantasy Team owner (like all of us) ... but he's playing for real.

Sit DOWN Les, and shut up. Do it like Warren Buffet and let the managers that you hired do their job.

You're right. Sports is like Hollywood. But coaches aren't Hollywood stars. If you think Adelman wins as many games for the Rockets as Lebron added to Cleveland these past years, you might want to lay off on the crack pipe.

 

I don't think that's what he meant. Alexander won even fewer (zero in fact) games than the coaches he fired. Les is like the owner of the studio. The GM is the producer. The coach is the director. The players the actors.

Some of you people need to learn understand the argument from extreme. Use an extreme example to show the absurdity of the logic.
