I understand they are trying to stay faithful to his looks is the source material, but i still don't like it. I thought heavy batman and the fat bat logo were bad looks in the comics. Just because a story was excellent, doesn't mean all of it was excellent. It was an awful look then, and it's an awful look now, particularly the logo. Having said that, the trailer overall was promising.
Well I loved Man of Steel, and this is looking just as good the more I see of it. My only concerns were they rushing Batman and Superman and Justice League together too soon, but the trailer seems to do a nice job of bridging DKR and MOS to this.
One of these people doesn't seem to belong... I'm still thinking that part was miscast. I hope I'm proven wrong.
Cool trailer, but the most exciting news of the day is that Bruce Timm is writing and directing an animated film adaptation of The Killing Joke for 2016. That for me is the Batman movie event of the year.
I feel like this is the first time I've really seen Batman from the comic books in live action and he looks amazing. Loved The Dark Knight, liked the other Nolan movies, appreciated the Burton movies for what they were but none of them featured a Batman I recognized. This is my Batman. I hated all of the other movie costumes and the suits for this one are incredible. I'm not an Affleck fan and I think he looks dopey in stills like the one on the EW cover but he's great in the trailer so I'm holding out hope. And Wonder Woman looks amazing. The story seems to borrow from some of the best in DC history but is also entirely new and seems impressively complex (for a comic book movie) and utterly epic. I'm ambivalent about Eisenberg's Luthor but honestly I just don't care that much about Luthor. I'm geeking out too hard on seeing Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman in action in the same film.
It's going to be animated, and no word on who will be cast. But Mark Hamill has said in the past that the only way he would bring his Joker out of retirement would be if Bruce Timm made The Killing Joke. Here's hoping!
