He's a 7-2 center originally from South Sudan who now plays for West Oaks (Fla.) High School. He has an astonishing 7-11 wingspan and can run the floor rather gracefully considering his immense size.

Oh, yeah. He's also in eighth grade.

Imagine the look on player and parent's faces when they showed up to the NYBL event in Columbus, Ohio to take on Team Florida's Class of 2019 team.

Incredible agility for a guy his height. A 7'2" is not supposed to be fluid like that. Hopefully he is done growing.

That is a 14 year old...almost no chance he is done growing....

Going to break 8 feet wingspan easily.

A big problem I could see is if he gets too big, like bigger than Yao size. He might develop a lot of injuries.

Yao is nothing compared to this kid or even guys like Wilt... This kid is way longer. Even at just 7'2 he's got an excessive 7-11 wingspan and probably like a 9'10" standing reach.

I agree, South Sudan is a deep black hole and a lot of kids over there have no birth documents. He may be 18 already, but you would never know.
Most other tests would not be done because of the costs and corruption (docs just take money for yourself)...

The young man is impressive, but I am not sure I believe all the metrics regarding wingspan, etc... Rudy Gobert is also 7'2", but with a wingspan of about 7'5", so this 8th grader has a 4" advantage in that regards???

Maybe, but I will not believe until all of that is measured by the pros.

Might be too tall to play...and might find his body break down as he plays against bigger bodies.

Holy cow! Soft hands and nice footwork. Going to reiterate others that he's not going to grow too much more.

It could be that he actually 17-18, but in that case why not reveal his real age so he can go to college or the nba?

Looks pretty impressive in that video!!

    ...against other 8th graders.

It's unfortunate for him, but he will probably get too big, too awkward, too unathletic, and too much weight on his joints to have a long, good NBA career. Maybe not? But we have seen it happen to a lot of guys before him already.
