I think all would agree his atrocious performance against the Clippers. His series totals:

    6.3 PER
    38.6% true shooting percentage
    -0.066 WS/48
    85 ORtg

I am so glad we can dismiss Tony Parker as a relevant point guard in the NBA. I found it borderline sickening last summer when guys like Barkley, George Karl, and Skip Bayless tried to make the idiotic argument that this guy was the best PG in the NBA. Even in his prime, rational basketball people knew this guy wasn't in the top tier of PG's. He was always a crafty PG who get into the lane based purely on his speed. I will give him that he was a good finisher, but his shooting is and always was mediocre, his ball-handling is lacking(see the amount of picks he needs just to get by a defender), and his softness on defense is aggravating. ALWAYS thought he was the most overrated player of this generation, thanks for proving me right TP !!

Wait are you happy that he is passed his prime? You don't get a dynasty without him i believe.

I find it sickening that Duncan has one less Finals MVP because of this guy.

Tony is 32 years old... shouldn't fall off a cliff that quickly.

But, he executed his sharp decline well.
    Nice effort ;)

I'm sure it had nothing to do with him playing against the best defensive PG in the league.

I started a thread in the Dish earlier this year going over his declining numbers. Of course his post-all-star numbers were better and played a strong role in the Spurs righting their ship.

I don't know if he truly has lost a step or it is just a lingering injury. All I know is that Pop made a huge mistake by not trusting Patty Mills more.

Tony Parker is good, but the real truth is that Chris Paul is BY FAR the best PG in the NBA, and he has been for years and years...

Parker was playing injured. When he is healthy, he gets to the rim and causes all kinds of chaos. Parker just depends on his quickness and when you are injured, it is hard to get by people.

He won finals mvp one year. And he played injured this series.

He was underrated. Last year he destroyed teams in the playoffs.

We don't have point guard who could get into the paint like he does.

    Horrible thread

He was injured this entire year, came back healthy for like two weeks before the playoffs and then re-injured himself before the playoffs.

He'll be back next year, as will the Spurs.

    Parker will only be 33.

actually he's been rightfully so in the top tier at pg's discussion for many years. he didn't prove anything to you. you waited to post this after an injured TP played the whole series and still showed up in game 7 at the tail end of his career. it doesn't take anything away from what he's done thus far in his career.

The fact that at the worst moment of his career you are saying he's a mediocre PG tells me he's a really great player.
