Funny thing is that Jordan hill isn't exactly beloved by most Lakers fans.

Jordan Hill is only getting those good looks because Jeremy Lin gets double teamed all the time.

Especially during games, which I assume he was based on how often he messed up dunks.

This says quite a bit about how bad the Lakers are.

Lulz, the article tries to rationalize it by hyping Hill. Is it the diet? Is it the work on his jumper? Nah, dog, everyone else just sucks that much.

Nah, don't think DMo needs any further competition for his job.

Look at Jordan's shooting stats from various ranges this season, notice anything weird?

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hilljo01.html

He is reported to have worked on his jumpers this offseason, but I don't think he will keep hitting 77.8% of his 10-16 feet shots because nobody in NBA history has ever done it.

What that team needs on offense is more spacing. Lin doesn't have the handles to navigate a crowded paint, and Boozer no longer has the quickness to finish in traffic. Kobe is the one guy who can work with a lack of spacing but a crowded paint still means Kobe takes more tough contested Js to get his points and fewer layups.

Hill is hitting a bunch of shots because nobody bothers guarding him outside the paint yet. Teams will either catch on and guard him some eventually or he'll just naturally regress to normal (or maybe somewhat above average) big man shooting numbers. And midrange shooters don't create as much spacing as 3 point shooters do-- and the Lakers lack 3 point shooting either as a matter of personnel or philosophy.

He is 35% from long 2 and still has not attempted a 3?!

    Scott forbade it

The 3 pointer differential is killing that team.

You can shoot a good FG% and get to the line a good number of times and still have a below average efficiency offense if you shoot as few 3s as the Lakers do. Meanwhile, if the other team is using that weapon, even shooting contested 3s, they are going to have an advantage over you. This is doubly bad when the Lakers already have a talent deficit.

And the lack of 3s also contests the paint for everyone. It is just BAD!

You're right, you get some crazy stats early in the season. Hill is 7-9 from 10-16 feet so far.

I doubt Jordan Hill would even start over TJones here.

He is also just hot with his shots the last 2 games after going 2-7 from the field in each of the fist 2.

Anyhow, the data set really doesn't indicate much so far other than a guy being hot for 2 games.
