I guess the Rockets organization can point to the article and the information it contains when (a) acquiring a better point guard to start over Pat and/or (b) negotiating with Wolverine for his next contract.

Here's hoping the knee stands the course of time, not only for the team's success but for Patrick Beverly and his career.

Sounds like a quack to me :p

Seriously though, I wish you would have asked him specifically about Andreo Spina, who the Rockets brought in this summer to teach the staff some things.

If it is going to be such a problem...why didn't they operate on it after the playoff loss?? Wouldn't he be fully reovered by now? Any doctors in the house?

You can't just think about recovery from a medical standpoint though. You have to consider that once a player is physically able to run, jump, and move laterally at 100% effort, he'll still need to address muscle atrophy and getting his conditioning back. And at that point, he'll still be way behind the 8-ball in terms of the physical preparing required for an 82-game season.

If the team doctors and training staff believe that they can manage his situation without surgery, I think they should try.

I don't buy it. Sounds like posturing. The Landry Effect.

We're talking 4 months from the end of the season to now. Not to mention another few weeks until training camp. You mean that's not enough time to recover and get back in condition? Especially for a freak like Bev?

NOTE: I'm not a doctor. I have no idea. It just seems like a long enough time to me.

It's hard to sustain his style of play with starter time.

Meniscal repair recovery time generally ranges from 12-16 weeks.

Patrick decided against surgery. You can't go cutting into sombody's knee without their permission.

Yes, Bev is a freak - - and I mean that in a good way. But is he also a guinea pig?

It's interesting to me that even in a contract year Bev is betting on himself!

This is odd. He would have had the surgery if someone told him it was better for him both this season and seasons beyond.

    Bev's the man.

Just hope it doesn't bite him in the ass.
