This is a really cool phenomenon. Every ice bucket challenge moves God one step closer in helping scientists figure out a cure for ALS.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but people are doing the challenge to get OUT of donating? Because that's the idea right. Do the challenge or donate. I see a lot of people on my Facebook wall not even mention ALS with their ice bucket challenge video. There's probably been millions of dollars worth of precious water wasted that could have been put to better use elsewhere.
This is the part I don't get. So by doing the ice bucket challenge, you are publicly acknowledging that you are cheap and opting to not donate? I am sure there's a small percentage of these folks that donate and do the challenge, but the folks I know who have done that challenge did not donate. Most of which have assumed there is an organization that is donating $100 for each challenge completed, which I seriously doubt. All that being said, I agree with the poster who said this may be one of the better ways that social media has been used. It has opened a lot of eyes to a disease that may not have had any idea of its existence.
I think most people are donating AND doing the challenge. They've already raised more in this short period of time than they did all last year. Of course there are a few cheapskates
