I always just wondered what the highest points per game is for a Rockets opponent. I don't mean team, I mean individual player. I heard I think on the radio that Michael Jordan and Jerry West scored a career 30 points per game when they matched up against the Rockets. Is there a list somewhere?

    I'm going with Moses Malone.

It would be ironic if the highest PPG Rocket *ever* (31ppg in his MVP season) was also our highest PPG opponent.

Dang so nobody knows any exact stats though?? Like on CF or Basketball Ref there's no option to calculate career games for 1 opposing player against this franchise?

In 2013-2014 (so far) - Kevin Durant with 37 PPG in 3 games (James Anderson had 36 in 1)

In 2012-2013 - Carmelo Anthony with 37 PPG in 1 game (LeBron had 35 in 2)

In 2011-2012 - Monta Ellis with 33 points in 1 game (Danny Granger and LeBron James had 32 in 1 each)

Since 1984-1985, best I can do:

Larry Bird 30.6667 PPG in 12 games
Michael Jordan 30.4231 PPG in 26 games
World B. Free 28.7500 PPG in 4 games
Dwyane Wade 27.1111 PPG in 18 games
Kobe Bryant 27.0909 PPG in 55 games
Allen Iverson 26.2917 PPG in 24 games
Kevin Durant 25.8800 PPG in 25 games
Carmelo Anthony 25.6429 PPG in 28 games
LeBron James 25.5000 PPG in 20 games
Dominique Wilkins 25.4828 PPG in 29 games

    Total points scored, since 1984-1985:

Karl Malone 2093 points in 86 games
Kobe Bryant 1490 points in 55 games
Dirk Nowitzki points in 1351 points in 59 games
John Stockton points in 1320 points in 91 games
Tim Duncan 1249 points in 63 games
Gary Payton 1116 points in 60 games
Kevin Garnett 1073 points in 54 games
David Robinson points in 1047 points in 57 games
    Shaquille O'Neal 999 points in 45 games
Rolando Blackman points in 974 points in 48 games

What would be more interesting would be the person with the most points scored above their season averages, I think.

My guess would have been Nique. He'd even drop 30 on us as a Spurs player. It would almost have to be a player in the east you'd think, since they play us half as many games.

It says Allen Iverson scored 58 on us before. Highest ever vs the rockets. He went over 40 a total of three times

I think Kobe's is the most impressive given he has twice the sample size in terms of ppg as the rest of them. Only reason Malone has the most all-time points is because of those 86 games.

The better question is how much higher the rockets ppg is versus their career averages.

Durant torches everybody. Jason Terry would be on top of this list.
