I think Bev will be the starter once again for ~30-33 minutes a game, Lin will probably be back in the 25-28 range. Regardless of his minutes, Lin needs to be attacking whenever he is in the game. He's coming off the bench to push the pace and get into the lane to make the d collapse. Good things always happens when Lin is aggressive. Too often I think Lin forgets this and just dumps the ball off and becomes stationary.

If we start Lin and bev comes off the bench who is going to score with that bench unit? Minutes will be there for Lin, 30 of them as a matter of fact, but Beverley simply should and will start when he's fully healthy..

It's logical, Lin is the better player but bev starts because he can't run the offense like Lin can and will for 25+ mpg

Is this really coming out of a 99er? Really?

Harden and Parsons were the starter last season and remain so this season.

    Go figure.

Who knows? Lin's next contract is going to look very different (ie. less money).

Hopefully Lin will come off the bench, because lord knows how terrible our bench has been.

Bev will start. Will be reevaluated based on the need for Lin playing with the bench after the Omer trade.

Patrick Beverley will give our bench that defensive spark that it needs.

Parsons did a great job leading the bench unit.

I think regardless of Bev starts or not, I really wish Lin could play with Dwight more. Hopefully he could be on the floor with Dwight when he comes in. They are starting to build chemistry and it is pretty awesome

    Yup....

On his weekly appearance on "The Matt Thomas Show" on Tuesday, Rockets starting point guard Patrick Beverley alluded that he may be very close to returning to the court.

When asked what his doctor told him after meeting with him yesterday, Beverley hinted "He said I can.... He said I'll be back very soon."

"Before the 22nd, I'm playing," Beverley said.

It would be cool if he came back for OKC, just for the drama.

It would make sense for Bev to return playing as a starter once he regains his rhythm, timing, conditioning, etc. mainly because:

Beverly's main strengths are D-Fence, Toughness, and Rebounding. The opposing starting points guards are typically the opposing teams best offensive point guards and their floor general. When you disrupt or shut down the other teams starting point guard you also typically disrupt their overall offense. This is very valuable because when the opponents have slow or turbulent starts, the Rockets are more likely to gain large leads early on which can make the other teams lose confidence, play out of character or away from the playbook, and make them more rigid or hesitant.

Meanwhile, the Rockets can gain more confidence when they are up early, especially on the road, and play looser by take more calculated risks like gambling for steals, double or triple teaming briefly, or helping out on D for a few seconds more, because of their large cushion...

Lin's main strengths are Scoring, Attacking, Creating for Others, & FT's. The same can be said for Harden which is why the Rockets are best served to have 48 minutes with at least one play maker on the court. This allows the bench to maintain or add on to any early leads to really create separation from other teams... Or if behind in the score allows the bench to make the Rockets whole or get the lead back to the starters.

Lin played very well with Asik last year when they were starters. If Asik is to remain playing for the Rox this year, playing with Lin should be encouraging for him because Lin was also a Solid Starter so they could share that bond. But more importantly, this would be encouraging for the Rockets hopes of Contending. There's also a guy named Camby who's not that far away from the bench...

AB strengths are Scoring, Shooting, Creating off of Blazing Speed, and FT's. AB and Lin can and will also play as a SG.

All of them have proven that they are CLUTCH. Who finishes the games will likely be determined by how well the guards are playing that game, matchups, and or game circumstances.

IMO, The point guard situation is a WIN-WIN-WIN because the less minutes they play the more fresh and potent they will be for the rest of the grueling season and playoffs. The less wear and tear and fatigue, the less likely for injuries.

Wrong. If Lin plays well then he should be sixth man; if he's struggling then he should start. The whole purpose of Lin as sixth man was so that he could be the focal point of the offense with the second unit.

I keep saying this but everyone keeps trolling or baiting with who starts on the team. We have a good PG situation, it just has been a little rough because of Pbev being injured. Usually when Lin is out of control, if he doesnt start fixing his mistakes mchale pushes Pbev or Brooks in. 3 PGs that have different skill sets in situations. Really is a win-win-win.

Harden should be sixth man...that will strengthen the bench, while the starters can play team ball.
