    Nope.

Forgone conclusion? Everything you hear, read, see, Mike Smith is safe.

How long does it take to get out of salary cap hell? A good coach needs player flexibility. The Skins have a $30M cap hit that'll be lifted, so that's great for any incoming head coach/gm combo.

If ranking the potential openings, something like this...I guess.

    Lions/Texans/Falcons/Giants
    Jets/Bucs/Titans/Vikings
    Redskins/Cowboys/Raiders

If the giants Fire their coach i can see Bob enticing him here. Seems like he could do with a fresh start. 2 SB wins against Brady and Bill is no joke. No other coach on the market could touch his playoff experience.

Texans are more attractive than Detroit. Nobody actually wants to go to Detroit to live.

This is the big myth about the Lions. That D is not solid, it's Suh and a bunch of other guys. They have no depth to speak of. Stafford is very overrated (not even a top 15 QB this year). Bush is nice, but he's a niche player. Calvin is all-world, but he can only get you so far. The Lions are the NFL's biggest paper tiger.

I don't think there's a chance in hell. Mike Smith has a 60-34 record as head coach. He 5th in active winning % only beind Payton, Belichick, John Harbaugh, and Mike McCarthy. It's his first losing season. Rarely do coaches get fired after one bad season.

Besides, Arthur Blank has already stated publicly that he will not fire Smith this season.

If Smith is fired, I'd like to have him here, but it ain't happening.

I don't know their relationship, but I'd love Bill O'Brien as HC with Romeo Crennel coming in as DC.

O'Brien was one of my top 2 choices. Lovie was nothing more than a token interview.

Texans should close the sale asap and reward themselves for firing Kubiak early.

Lovie is more than a token interview. He's a very strong candidate. If he wasn't so difficult for OCs to work with I would love him as coach.

Lovie was my other top choice. We may never know if the Texans were serious about him.

I think Houston is more desirable from a football perspective.

Detroit is locked into Stafford long term, and he will never win squat.

Detroits division is tons better than the afc south. The path to the playoffs is much easier at houston. Indy isn't all that great

Colts aren't consistent yet, but they've beaten Denver, KC, Seattle, and SF - two of which were blowouts on the road. That's not something that not-that-great teams generally can do.

It's about stability. Of course, the Texans job is more attractive than the Detroit one.

Also, we need to rebuild but we also need to get healthy. #1 pick in every round helps tremendously.
