at first I thought you were trolling and trying to instigate another jeremy lin debate until I remembered that he actually was a rockets bench warmer for a little bit until he was cut and picked up by new york.

With that in mind, he probably is the greatest rockets bench warmer ever, because he found his way off the bench.

To be fair, the last three started at some point during the nasty part of the season with dreams anemia injury and everyone but Clyde falling apart.

Charles Jones "guarding" top flight centers and power forwards was a six foul hoot.

Gotta give credit to the 40+ year old man though.

    Honorable mention:

    Larry Smith. AKA Mr. Mean.
He was a rebounding monster @ Golden State, then joined the Rockets to morph into a fouling machine extraordinaire. His M.O. as a Rocket was picking up phantom calls which involved Olajuwon committing a foul and then Larry Smith being assigned the foul after raising his hand.

His personal fouls per 36 minutes never fell below 5 fouls in his three seasons as a Houston Rocket, virtually having him on pace to foul out of every game as a Rocket. In his final year in the NBA, the free agent Smith took his talent to West I 10 to finish with a whopping 5.7 fouls per 36 minutes as a Spur.

Two Sandwiches. Spent a lot of time per game on a lot of the bench.

A true benchwarmer is someone who hardly ever got any playing time. For that I've have to go with

Joe Stephens - East side representin'

Only because I grew up & graduated with him at North Shore and he's a nice guy who's very involved with the community these days.
