Who should T-Rob and D-Mo model their games after?

Robinson should model his game after Reggie Evans. DMo should model his game after Kevin McHale.

 

Lemme try ...

TRob -- Udonis Haslem

His defense is better than his offense for now. I would like to see him as a defensive 3, someone quick yet strong to guard perimeter guys.

DMo -- Dirk Nowitzki

DMo should sharpen his offensive skills while seeking to be a reliable defender. His offense will always be miles ahead of his defense. Dirk can show how someone can become a star with that skillset and limitations.

 

Robinson already rebounds well. That's all Evans does. Don't we want T-rob to watch film of undersized players who excel offensively?? Just my .02

 

Thomas Robinson - Amare Stoudemire (offensively)

Similarities in strengths
-Undersized PFs who move well
-Explosive high fliers

What needs to be worked on
-Jumper
-Finishing ability

Donatas Motiejunas - Luis Scola (offensively)

Similarities in strengths
-Fine jumper
-Skilled post game
-Can run

-Calm and patience in the post
-Rebounding
-Hustle

 

I think Carl has nailed it. I mean, you could insert a lot of other names there, but those two are as good as any and I think can only be equaled, not surpassed.

Also, the examples given by ESPN might be the worst possible random bigs they could think of. Terrible. Gasol is a legit center with center size, Robinson is a small forward sized power forward. Lee is a super athletic PF with decent size and decent skill, DMo is a longer less athletic and more skilled player.

This would be like telling Beverley to model his game off of Mark Jackson. I mean, yeah, it would be great if he was a great passer, but he has completely different natural strengths.

Yeah I'll go with what kaitanuva said - Amare and Scola.

Saying T-Rob should base his game off Marc Gasol is just bizarre.

 

I think this is fairly accruate. Just added a few things to work on.

 

T-Rob --> Faried
DMO --> KG

 

Especially on the defensive end where Gasol's job is more of a stay at home, space clogging anchor in the middle, while someone like Robinson is going to be much better suited creating havok with his activity, and using his quickness to help, and rotate defensively.

 

That would be awesome if this actually came true.

Lol, I don't see Marc Gasol in Trob AT ALL. Completely different big.

I think it should be after Blake. Both are athletic, couldn't shoot, can play above the rim though.

Either that or Faried.

Dmo I guess the typical stretch 4...he can be a Kaman with more range.
