Ankiel because there are actually OFs we want to try in that slot if he's not doing it. Carter, Wallace, Pena will get more time with no one behind them (until Singleton is a possibility) to build trade value (Slightly unfair b/c Ankiel is platooning anyway)
Better question is how many of the starters on this team (including pitchers) will still be starting by the end of the season..... I think 70% of the starters will no longer be starting by game 162.
Wallace could get replaced in a heartbeat. Carter could DH and Pena to 1B. Bring up Laird if need be.
Carter's body language seems like he really doesn't want to be out there - in the field or at the plate. Looks like a lollygagger.
Still starting at seasons end (barring injury): Altuve Castro Dominguez Maxwell Carter Harrell Norris Humber Peacock I know it seems unlikely that we keep both Harrell and Norris, but won't pick which goes, even though I'd lean towards Norris.

I think its Pena. His .180 avg is going to get old real quick. I still have hope for Wallace and Ankiel showed fire in ST so I'll give him a shot...I agree with the other poster that carter seems uninterested but the guy has talent so I'm 'hoping' he gets it together. I would add Cedeno to the list. He is a complete 'meh' player. Castro should have a break-out year
I hope your right, but his 0 for 11 start earned him a place on this list. I basically listed all the guys having tough starts.
Only 3 strikeouts. I consider that encouraging, especially since he's faced a lefty and Darvish in 2 of the games.
I would guess Wallace and with this being the last year he has options its time for him to put up or shut up.
Wallace remind me so much of J.R. Towles. Such high hopes, those monster springs and good Minor League numbers, and then sucks in real games.
Dominguez and Castro are two guys that I actually think could have good years. The rest is pure scrap heap fill-ins who will be gone once they appear to be blocking any prospect of value. Carter has looked the worst of the whole lot this season, but he should get a long look given his potential and limited previous success at the MLB level.
Carter has the look of a guy who could only find a job on the worst team in baseball. What I am wondering is back a few years when he was successful, did his body language and "look" seem the same as were seeing? Maybe the guy is being miss-read in this regard. His 7K in 11 AB with no BB is no illusion though.
Wallace is a lost cause, I also can't stand how every timevhevhits the plate he puts his hand up between every swing... You can only do that if you don't strike out most of the time....IMO
In order of who goes with their corresponding replacement.. 1. Ankiel - Grossman (much more plate patience, and I think by June he will be ready) 2. Wallace - Laird (Even if Wallace starts getting some hits, he would have to show much improved power very quickly. They will want to see what Laird can do before Singleton is ready to take over first. But i think Laird is a big league pinch hitter at worst anyway) 3. Pena - Paredes (If he hasn't garnered any sort of trade value by mid season he will be gone to make room. Paredes will have another promising AAA half season under his belt and will get his last chance to prove he has major league worth) 4. The last one is tough, but someone has to make room for Singleton, who will be our starting 1B for a long time. His move to the majors cements the entire minor league system across America as void of any realy big 1B talent.
