One thing I can say about this thread is that the OP loves being boring. That's why this is OK. He's not living his life the way others expect him to and he's not trying to be someone he's not. If he really loves it, then being boring is his passion and he's living his passion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this as long as the OP is being truthful about really loving it. For example, my passions were traveling and eastern european women. My parents wanted me to marry a nice country girl in Texas and get a stable job working for the man at a refinery or plant in the area. So, I got a job as a traveling consultant, moved to Ukraine and married a woman I met in Kiev. My family **** themselves when they found out. Had I done what my parents wanted from me then, I'd be one of those on my death bed wishing I had lived my life on my own terms and not from family or social expectations.

If your happiness hinges on women then this is probably true. Happy people are happy regardless of whats going on in their dating/marriage life.
I don't know if I like being boring, but I sure as heck like being alone some times. That said, it's good to have friends and companionship. Look, I was someone when younger would rather sit by myself and read when other kids were running around at parent's dinner parties. I'm still very much enjoy alone time, but trust me when I say (and I'm stealing from George Clooney in up in the air here) "If you think about it, your favorite memories, the most important moments in your life... were you alone? Life's better with company." What it really hinges on is having good company, and it's one of those things that actually requires luck, but if you see it, don't let it slip.
