    Obviously this trade would never happen. Both Memphis and Boston have no reason to help out LA move Gasol's contract. Plus it hardly upgrades Boston in any situation you look at involving Pierce getting moved. Stupid trade from a stupid website.

    It's not like the Lakers would be taking on a much better contract. You could actually argue Gay's is worse since they seem to be interested in a 2014 free agency run.

    As a trade? I like it. But seriously, Boston trading Pierce for Pau Gasol would be among the biggest douchebag moves I've ever seen in the NBA.

    It is not a "rumor." If you read the article it specifically says Stein heard this RANDOM TRADE IDEA from someone who works for an NBA team that is NOT MEM, BOS or LAL. There is not even a rumor that any such trade is even being discussed. It's just some guy telling Marc Stein his random trade idea.

    If Ainge made that trade, he'd make Daryl Morey look like "People Person of the Year".

    Trade a lifetime Celtic just to get a big with the same-length contract (I think)?

    Ainge wouldn't make it to his car before he got pepper-sprayed.

    This would be like if the Celtics would have traded McHale for Kurt Rambis back in the late 80's....

    Given that this is the same city that is famous for the Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party, and Boston Police Riots, I think this trade would make those riots look like a fun tickle fest.
