http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterocke...kely-to-tweak-rockets-roster-before-deadline/ Sounds like no trade for Millsap or Smith, and there maybe smaller deals to consider this trade deadline.
It's a smokescreen. He'll try to make a trade, as always. Also, one reason is that we simply don't have any big contracts to move. We should still definitely try to get rid of Morris.
He is smart considering their is going to be a handful of free agents we like instead of trading for them and losing them in the offseason. I still would love a Rudy Gay trade but a little upgrade like Brandon Bass, Derrick Williams, Danny Granger? possibly...
Morey wants good player, low cost and if possible with experience to work with young players in Houston Example. Leandro Barbosa that is currently player of the Celtics and was wanted by Morey but Celtic not authorized
Seconded. I don't know if he'll make a move for one of those second/third-tier PFs (I certainly hope not), but my hunch is he moves one of Patterson or Morris at this deadline. At a bare minimum, I expect them to use that cap room to take on an expiring that some luxury tax team needs to unload. I wrote this exact same thing yesterday morning to recap how I feel about adding Josh Smith. There are plenty of upgrades out there for the Rockets at the PF spot, but this is their one chance to add a foundation piece alongside Harden. I personally prefer to wait until the offseason. Rockets still have a good shot at the playoffs, but if they miss them, they'll have their young players, cap room and a late lottery pick at their disposal. Other players/teams could shift directions at that time as well.
I don't know if I can stomach another season barely missing the playoffs and drafting at 14. I would take ANYTHING other than that.
