What kind of offense would you like to see this Rockets do?

Princeton? Horns? PnR (with who and who are the major threats)? Lots of BD cuts and weak-side screens?

A big problem with the offense is that our off the ball people are not stronger or faster than the other team, and no one is a consistent offensive shooting threat. There is also no real 'go-to' option on the court.

Anyways, here's what I would like to see:

Early game, focus on developing confidence in shooters and/or finding those with hot hands. Give a lot of screen and pops that give Harden and Lin open 10-15 footers. I noticed that Asik got a lot of offensive attention in the early game. Its JLin and Harden's jumpers you want to build confidence on in those few minutes, not Asik. This will make the rest of the game much easier.

Mid game, focus on running plays. I hate to see how there is a creative slump in mid game and they settle for PnR or ISO. I also don't like seeing Asik being the Roller every time. He actually does well at first, but then loses focus quickly and starts to gives sloppy screens which effectively ruins the play.

Also, I think JLin needs a teammate to trail him when he drives in. This mitigates the bad spacing issue this team has and gives him an additional opportunity when he's stuck in the paint. When he's surrounded by 3 guys and they are all wearing the other team's jersey, you know that way too many teammates are camping the 3.

Any offense.. since now we're not running any! If we want to have a perfect pick and roll coach who can have his team play defense and good offense, we would've hired Don Chaney!

    D'Antoni offense with a good defensive co-ordinator.

Let Mike D. worry about the X's and O's of putting the ball in the hole, let a defensive specialist figure out the defensive sets.

    D'Antoni would be really nice.

Any offense that gets SOMEONE ELSE going... James will get his.

D'Antoni needs good three point shooters for his offense to work. We don't have that right now.

Cook, Delfino, Hardin, can all hit the long ball

Lin, Parsons, Douglas can do it too just not as consistently.

Morris, Patterson, DMo, TJones can too if they're in a pinch.

We have plenty of guys who have the long ball in their arsenal.

    This.

You guys need to stop with this Mike D'Antoni nonsense. D'Antoni's offense isn't anything special. His offense is very basic in fact. He just uses gimmicky lineups that sacrifices defense for offense. He's like a homeless man's Popovich.

We have no stretch 4, never mind a stretch 3. People seem to forget this, but when the Knicks went with a traditional lineup (Chandler-Stoudemire-Melo) under D'Antoni they weren't any good offensively either.

You run whatever offense fits your personal best, period.
In the Rockets case this is tricky, because what may fit best for Lin or Harden, probably isn't doable because the other pieces don't fit and vice-versa, so you might have to run more incoherently plays than a true system.

LA's gonna hire D'Antoni so the point is moot. Also, the Knicks had a top 5 defense under D'Antoni once Lin started, so, no, there is no reason a D'Antoni team can't be good on defense with the right personnel.

There needs to be more movement in this offense. People without the ball have to atleast cut to the basket instead of standing at the 3 point line when their shot isnt falling. We look like the 2008-10 Atlanta Hawks. Jump shooting like theres no tomorrow, isoing all day long and no movement what so ever.

As long as the ball goes in the basket, I don't really care.

You also need a pnr big man for MDA's offense which this team doesn't have. So absolutely no to Mike D'antoni.
