    Not saying he did the correct thing, but he's hardly a jackass for thinking others might be more worthy/needing of generosity. It's not like he benefited from his decision, another random ill child did.

    His excuse may have been good, but it seems that he simply did it as payback for not being able to see his kid for as often as he would've liked. Wouldn't be that bad if he had no negative intentions IMO (simply wanted to do a good deed for a child who is currently terminally ill)

    It started out sounding OK until the "ticked me off" part came in. It sounded as if it were a good opportunity for the guy to teach his daughter about giving back to a child who is less fortunate than she is.

    Some people is so stupid.

    That would be assuming it was preventing another child from receiving their wish. As the CEO of M-a-W for that region said, she was absolutely eligible for gift because of what she (a 4-yr old who beat leukemia) went through.

    What father would prevent his 4-year old daughter who just beak leukemia from going to Disney World as a gift from a great organization that felt she was deserving for...BEATING LEUKEMIA?

    If you think that this guy did it to help someone else and not retribution against the girl's (did I mention she beat leukemia?) mother, I've got some property on the moon I'd like to sell you.

    He's absolutely a jackass.

    Maybe he's a jerk. Maybe the mother is a jerk too. What's the point of publishing an article about it and collectively engaging in 2 minutes of hate? I don't know these people or their situations other than the scant information provided here.

    It sounds like the mom and dad both made decisions that adversely affected the child. The dad made the more obvious headline-capturing decision but if what he says is true, the mom refusing him access to his daughter while she was battling leukemia is equally awful.

    If you don't agree with him, it doesn't mean you can call him names. He explained why, and he has every right. I wouldn't wait for the M-A-W to pay for my child for something like that, though. I believe they can be involved with things we as regular ol' peeps can't pay for... like the visit from that Hellboy guy... what's his name? I forgot.

    Also, I don't think it should be $3500.

    I agree. In fact, I think leroy is writing a huge check right now... aren't you, dude? ;)

    That's not an assumption, it's fact. Make a Wish doesn't have money to donate to every terminally ill child in the world.

    A father who wants the Disney World trip to go to someone who is still battling leukemia as opposed to someone who is no longer battling leukemia.

    Why would I not believe him? Again, He didn't benefit in any way from his decision. A random terminally ill child, who he will never meet or know, benefited from his decision.

    Depends on his true rationale for making the decision. If it was as he explained, I can respect that; if it was to spite his ex-wife, he is a dick. Especially, in light of the fact that the foundation has stated the child qualified.
