In the letter to the fans Les Alexander mentioned a new scoreboard being installed. From the sound of the message it seems its going to be installed this season sometime, but the season is getting pretty short. Does anybody here on the board have any inside insight on when the scoreboard is to be installed?

    Bump.

A friend of mine works for the Rockets, and this is what he said a few hours ago.

" Just got word up here at work that we (Rockets) are getting a new scoreboard. Free throw to Free throw length. We will have the best scoreboard in the league. Hands down"

Gotta do something to keep fan interest with 3 mediocre seasons in a row.

Yup, can't wait. I jokingly said we should get one like cowboys stadium, but it looks like Les is spending that China money.

    Goodnight, sweet prince.

Maybe stern would give us the first pick if such a "tragedy" were to happen.

I think I remember Rudy T was afraid of the scoreboards at every arena falling.

Oh hello there former HSBC Arena, now known as First Niagra center.

On November 19, 1996, only a month after the building opened, the scoreboard at Marine Midland Arena in Buffalo said “no mas.”

Call it a eight-sided revolt. Frankly, that season, the Sabres couldn’t score much anyway. But that night, the game between Buffalo and the Boston Bruins was postponed because the arena’s JumboTron fell over 100 feet and crashed into center ice.

Wouldn't free throw to free throw length affect full court shots?

That sounds like the argument made about long punts in Dallas hitting the scoreboard since it was so big!
