The food truck community is growing in Houston. Its a good way to get good gourmet food for a lower price. What are your favorite food trucks?

We have been long time Rocket's fans since before we can remember. Just wanted to reach out to the community to let y'all know we will be opening up the First Gourmet Filipino-American Food Truck in Houston looking to open early Summer 2012. I know this community supports each other and that's what I love about it.

Please spread the word and check out our site.

    Good luck.

I knew a guy who was doing a food truck, but he couldn't make a go of it. I hope you fare better.

I think he's right about the gourmet. There's always been a cheap-food-truck industry here, but the growth seems to be coming on the high-end gourmet side.

I've had 2 of Austin's most popular trucks. I like the Houston ones better. http://www.hautewheelshouston.com/

We will start serving in the Heights, Montrose, Galleria areas. But we can serve anywhere in Harris County and will serve wherever the demand is. We also do catering and private events which is not limited to any area in Texas.

the Houston Food Truck community is still growing a lot of the brick and mortar restaurants are preventing us to serve like they do in Austin. For example, cant park in downtown or med center areas if you are using propane without paying for a Fire Marshall to stand by. Fire Marshall's cost around $250/hr and us food truck dont find it worth the price to serve in those areas. But I find a lot of our food truck are comparable if not better than some Austin ones. If you are on twitter check out my food truck list @papapnoi.

You should check out Coreano's. They are from Austin but opened a truck in Houston. They are similar to OHmyGogi and pretty good as well. I get torn between the two sometimes :)

I hope this feedback doesn't hurt Clutches feelings.

And can't wait til I move back to Houston, I'll have to hit one up. I catch them in Austin every once and a while when I get off from my internship.

Oh man, the food truck festival was such a disaster last year. I hope this one is a little better run.

Yeah, I made the most out of it and got there earlier (luckily) but a lot of people had to deal with long waits. Also, it seemed like trucks ran out of food. Apparently it had more to do with poor planning by the truck owners who had never been to an event like that before. Hopefully things go a bit more smoothly this time around.

It's a steamed bun with pork OR chicken. Its cooked asado style which is a sweet savory style of cooking from the Philippines.
