Since there are no points, it's more fun to make fun of you. Stop whining. Actually, stop posting.

Well, ever since Northside Storm thought he could change the thread into some little pissing contest, it kind of went downhill. Maybe geeimsobored finds my response to him and responds.

There's the ignore list, or you can just leave the thread.

No skin off my back. I've lost track of how many times your posting degenerates into personal venom with little relevancy.

    I don't much care.

Anyways, this was another great gif-filled adventure where we didn't go far. I don't think we'll ever get far, so I guess I have to take the initiative to leave.

Peace, best of luck with all of your goals, have a good day ATW.

This has turned into "Making excuses for the Arab world" rather than any real discussion.

Nobody's making excuses for anybody. If the Islamist parties fail in these new democracies, that is on them. My problem is those that think they will fail straight off the bat.

I am for democracy everywhere, for everyone, not just select groups. If that means empowering ideologies I am uncomfortable with, that is the price I am willing to pay for others to join in the same freedoms I enjoy.

So now I wasted a lot of time arguing with two slow people. Even though I totally dominated both of these kids, who really lost here? Mmmh.

    heh.

I suppose the world lost, because with your MBA skills, you would have solved the classical dichotomy by now, or cut the Gordian knot.

They will fail, every religious based system eventually fails, because deep down a lot of people don't really believe the BS that they are asked to believe in.....and anything that starts with a rotten base will not grow into something all that strong.

Well, then, let us hope for the complete secularization of society, where the President of the United States (an atheist) can meet another atheist in the leader of Israel, and of Saudi Arabia, and all three can still respect the religious convictions of their citizens, but debate policy on a level unattached to these clauses, but rather attached to the betterment of human beings everywhere.

In the meanwhile, small steps are better than no steps.

It doesn't matter if they are atheist or not, it matters whether the mythology of religion is not involved in the governing of the country.

Everyone's beliefs should be respected, even the non-believers, and you should not be executed or sentenced to die for leaving a faith - that is my main issue with Islam is the bully pulpit nature of converting and keeping it's followers (cough cough).

To some degree all religions have had that, but after stable periods of freedom and prosperity, those clauses have been significantly moderated. One can only wish the same happens for Islam.
