But he would not have played.

KLow and Dragon are getting all the PG minutes.

    This.

I'd still play Dragic over Lin.

And I'm sure Morey already has plans for Flynn and his contract.

We definitely did Lin a favor by waiving him.

    how is that honest?

    lol

we all knew that Lin can play since he had his preseason games last year...

every time he stepped out on the floor he showed exactly what he's doing now...

so all of this is nonsense...he had to do the trade and is being nice now

I knew he was better than Flynn. Tell me you at least suspected that Morey. TELL ME!

yeah, but this part is all ego: "Anyone who says they knew misleading U."

A humble man would have said, "I should have known better. It's my job not to miss these things; we had him in camp, afterall. Yeah, we already had our backup in Dragic, and a guaranteed commitment to Flynn. Regardless, I wish we hadn't cut him."

Morey isn't admitting its a mistake, though. He "regrets" it, in hindsight. I think he believes that at the time, given everything they knew about him and the team situation personnel-wise and contract-wise, it was the right decision.

Well, even the best GMs make mistakes. Nevertheless, it's still a mistake.
The problem is Rockets, like Warriors never game Lin a real chance to shine. Even D'Antoni said he was not in their plan just a couple weeks ago. Lin wasn't given the chance until there really is no other options left.

I watched the one game Lin got some playing time vs. the Spurs in pre-season, and I thought it was weird we released him after that performance.

6 points in 6 minutes on 3-3 shooting with 1 assist. Almost made the comeback on the road. Was a nice performance.

There was no trade, he was waived. Which is what the Warriors did as well.

I disagree...in his tweet, he flat out says,

"We should have kept (Jeremy Lin)." == admits to mistake

"Did not know he was this good," == honesty of why he made mistake

"Anyone who says they knew misleading U." == ego. saying everyone would have made the same mistake

I agree with what you "think" was the reason. It's not like he was watching video of the guy, only. He had him in camp just 2 months ago. I agree it was a reasonable decision. But it was a mistake, moreso than Morey saying the same thing about a draft pick mistake.

Haha this stupid story is the top headline on ESPN NBA page.

Morey is paying Lin a sincere compliment about his play and his inspiring story, but I doubt he's losing sleep over Lin not being a part of the Rockets. The real travesty in all this is that he's helping the freaking Knicks.

As much as I like Jeremy Lin, Dalembert is more important. It's also not like we didn't want to keep him, but we had to cut him to get Dalembert. Plus, when you have Lowry and Dragic on your roster already, can you honestly fault that move?

I wouldn't say he made a mistake, but I would say if things could be done differently if given another chance.

I think deep in his heart Morey knows it's a mistake. But he doesn't want to make himself look too bad which is understandable.

He's the GM, If he couldn't see Lin was this good or would be this good, it means Morey or/and his scouting team didn't do their job good enough. It's not like Lin had an attitude problem. Morey admits he works very hard.
