from the Dime NBA player rankings: http://dimemag.com/2012/01/dime-nba-power-rankings-vol-iv-denver-jumps-a-mile-high/2/ 16. Houston Rockets (10-8) LW: 17, +1 Is Kyle Lowry still underappreciated? I’m not sure. People are finally smartening up, and there’s a rumor floating around about a swap of Pau Gasol and Kyle Lowry (with Luis Scola thrown in as well). So Lowry went from backing up Mike Conley early in his career to possibly being traded for a big-time All-Star. Things are looking up. As for Houston, Hollinger predicts they will just sneak into the playoffs, and if they can improve that No. 22 offense, I’d agree. I all for getting Pau but only if it comes with another landing (like Nene), but I do not like the move if it requires us to give up Lowry. I like the deal that was present before the season better.
Hells no, I don't want Pau if he's going to react like a little b**** to being traded away to Houston.
If we're going to bring in a player like Pau, we need a quality point guard. I think this was one of those ESPN guys who assume that a big market team should always steal players from the other teams in the league.
Stop with the Kyle Lowry and Scola for Pau Gasol rumors. They only want Kyle Lowry now because he is the most valuable point guard in this league besides three guys now. I wouldnt give them Kyle Lowry for Pau Gasol straight up. Gasol is old and he is comparable to what Lowry brings every night. Lowry is young.
agreed, that's why this worries me if Morey was crazy about Pau then he might be willing to actually do this.
It's not a "rumor floating around." It's something that Chris Broussard said (on Sportscenter) he would do if he were managing the Lakers.
Interesting that we wanted to sign Nene to go with Gasol. Per 36 min - Nene 16/10/1 Sammy 13/13/3 I wonder who would do better next to Gasol?
Yeah, I would do this as well if I were the Lakers, PG is obviously a need for them and with Lowry, Kobe, Barnes/MWP, Scola, Bynum that's a better lineup then what they are putting out there now. But for the Rockets, I wouldn't do this, not a chance.
That means it's not the first pure fantasy that Broussard has thrown out there lately that a fan or fans took to be a real trade discussion/rumor. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=214401
I like Broussard as a basketball analyst, but dear Lord this guy puts out more rumors than a high school cheerleader...smh
I'd take Pau for Martin, Scola, and Dragic, leaving us with Dalembert, Gasol, Parsons, Lee, and Lowry. I believe that is an incremental upgrade for us, getting us into the 3-6 seed range.
How is this any different as a trade rumor than anything any person on this board tosses out? Just the same, all speculation, no real substance. DD
