I miss those football passes he'd throw from one side of the arena to the other. I haven't seen another player with the strength and accuracy to pull that off.

Not many people can hold a basketball like it was a tennis ball. I pretty sure he had the biggest hands ever in the NBA

O.T's number should be hanging from the rafters. Dude is probably the most underrated player we've ever had.

Nice mix, but no rebounds. His one-handed rebounds were the most awesome thing to me.

OT was a great compliment to Olajuwon and he would have been a perfect fit next to Yao too, too bad we couldn't find a banger like OT for Yao.

    Another nice play of Thorpe:

He was so important for that first championship.

A true POWER forward. They don't make them like that anymore.

What happened to Thrope after he was traded to the Blazers? It seem he just went mia after the Rockets traded him. Was he on his last legs or something?

After Portland he went to play with a young Grant Hill and Detroit made the playoffs in both years. His numbers were not bad, but he was in a decline.
play 82 and 79 games for those years. Solid.

Thanks Tin Man... your posts are always teaching me something new. I knew Otis Thorpe was a beast but I forgot how he could absolutely tear through defense with the ball in one hand. Sickeningly good.
